I think T-Mobile finally got this figured out. I recently asked 2 different reps at 2 different occasions and they both said yes, u can pay it off and will continue to receive monthly credits.
With tmobile, asking and receiving an answer is one thing, but actually having it happen is another.

To that I would say just proceed as if you will no longer receive the credits if paying it off.

T-Mobile is a joke now.
From the words of the great American poet T Swift, haters are gonna hate.

If you were a true SDer who have have followed Tmobile threads for many years you would have been one of the ones to really take advantage of some great deals. There are plenty of people on here who had MM with 9+ lines for under $100, some even well under it with kickbacks. When it was time for go5g plus, they only paid like $8 more a month, still very cheap and still worth it if they do these upgrade offers on 2 or more lines.

I got in late on the bonanza of plan deals and still managed to get 9 lines for around $120 on Go5g plus. Still pretty good. I plan to do at least 3 device promos every 2 years so it is worth it for me. At least these promos are 24 months not 36 months like other carriers.

Don't ask how this was done, because you aren't going to be able to replicate it at this point, but if you have been here long enough you would have been able to figure it out.

Not sure anymore, but in the past the remaining credits would move to account level, freeing the line up for another finance offer. Haven't ran into that need recently (see below) so haven't kept up with it.

Personally one of the side effects of grabbing the 9 lines mostly free, is that you can use an extra line instead for the purchase in the predicament where you have 2 payments left on your line and a preorder that ends in 11 days. Zero chance of losing credits. Phones can physically go on whichever line you want. And the phone I'm using now isn't going to be the phone I'm trading in to TMO anyways. Trading in a $70 10se instead. But like you mentioned that upgrade for me to Go5G+ (and higher TIVs) was calculated and cheap because they only charge my 2 paid lines.

If you are using all your lines, you should at least have a line that's not currently financed, and can use that one without worry.

It's not that I don't have an available line for the promo. It's that I don't have a phone that is fully paid off to trade in. I have 2 s22 on device promo but both have about 4 months left of payments. If it's guaranteed that if I pay the phone off I will still get the promo credits then I will do it. Sucks that Samsung started releasing their phones earlier in the year than in the past.

From a value standpoint, I would keep/sell/use the S22's as backups anyways. Order a cheap S9 or S10e (got one yesterday for $70). Swappa sellers and some ebay sellers will give you the IMEI after you pay, so you can go ahead and order the new phones while the trades are still in transit.

On Magenta Max plan. Been waiting for T-Mobile to bring back the iPhone deal when the iPhone 15 first came out for preorders. It is similar to this Samsung promo. But, nope nothing good and have been disappointed with a bit of frustrations. Oh well. Will wait a bit longer if not then will hold out for the iPhone 16 models. Only 9 more months longer. laugh out loud
That was the last good promo for magenta Max. You won't be able to get the iPhone 16 for free after trade in on magenta Max. Only go5g from here on out.

I guess the best deal for lower tier TMO plan users is to buy from Samsung directly with educational discount+$120 instant discount+$150 accessory credit?

Have we confirmed once and for all if we are currently on a phone device promo and pay it off early, will we continue to receive the discounts for that promo?
I still have a few months of the S22 promo left but want to take advantage of the double storage promo until 1/30.
Yes. I paid off 2 phones in 2023 including an iPhone 15 last month so I could unlock and both continued to get credits.

Where did you find an S9 in trade in-eligible condition for $70? A lot of listings mention scratches which makes me nervous it won't be accepted.

Got a pretty good deal through samsung.com

https://imgur.com/a/FyPaISa

I traded in my s22+ through the Tmobile deal ($1000 off) on samsung.com. Also got the watch 6 classic 47mm LTE bundle. I paid $209 in all. I got 12% back on cashback site to get $132 back. So in all I paid $77 and s22+ for s24 ultra and watch.

S10e on ebay for $74 still there. For sure there are even better bargains on same/diff models on ebay and Swappa. That was just my first thought and short on time without a crystal ball. I ordered a few days ago so not worried that I didn't get the IMEI at time of purchase with them, but I didn't ask them this time either. Also beat the rush that seems to be going on post unwrap. Seems like more are hunting for the S9's. . .also wasn't 100% sure what the gen cutoff was as I ordered them before the unwrap. Scratches are fine if indeed they are just scratches.

I thought cashback site only gives 12% of the amount charged immediately to your card, so like $25 in your case. Do they really give 12% of the entire phone price?
