Guys think like an Einstein: Take your girl out for a free night. She will love it. Plus, you get free popcorn and soda. The amount of hate here on literally a free date night is insane.

1996 tv series was the original.

Pitt/Jolie movie was a reboot/reimagining

It's premise is basically the same as this new one.

1996
Two spies are recruited by an intelligence agency. They pose as a married couple Mr. and Mrs. Smith when they are on their missions.

2024
Two strangers land jobs with a spy agency that offers them a life of espionage, wealth, and travel. The catch: new identities in an arranged marriage.

Do you have your own movie theatre that's comparable to a professional cinema? That would be the only difference. Hard to replicate that at home.
After getting a 77 inch OLED, I hate going to the movie theater. Reminds me of when I got a PS2...it made going to the arcade irrelevant.

100% sure that was a cheap ripoff of True Lies, which came out in 1994. Scott Bakula is even wearing a tux in the poster. Maybe True Lies did start the trope.

What's wrong with the cast?
It's less of a miscast I would say (who cares about the skin color of the actress and actors?) but rather IMO it's an issue of both the movie and gaming industry recycling old ideas instead of coming up with new ones. Creativity isn't what it used to be.

You should want these to sell out. Because only then will they open more theaters. You could start a campaign and get 500 local prime members to sign up and send results to Amazon. Money talks only then will companies listen,
Movie theaters are finished. Every new movie theater project I've seen has been shelved.

does anyone know how the sold out thing works? like is it really limited to the number of seats available or do they overbook?

as I would hate to go there with a ticket and be turned away because its booked...

lmk experiences with these please
From the FAQ [primepremiere.amazon], it sounds like any other movie screener. - you are not guaranteed a seat even if you RSVP and need to show up at 6:15 when they start admitting people:

If I RSVPed for a ticket, do I have a guaranteed seat?
No. Tickets are General Admission on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability and not guaranteed. We do our best to ensure you get a seat and ask for your patience and understanding as sometimes we underestimate demand for tickets and may run out of seats.

The whole event seems pretty lame. Go an hour early in hopes that you'll get in to see a 30 or 60-minute episode of a new show that will be streaming 2 days later. I guess the incentive is a free small soda and small popcorn? I guess it's worth it if you live near a participating theatre and really want to get out of the house.

The hard to replicate part is the other people on the theatre. You can get better sound at home even with just a good set of headphones and a 4K tv with hdr isn't hard to get your hands on

I can't get headphones to work on my TVs well. The signal doesn't seem to travel well.

Good riddance. They did themselves in with the ridiculous prices even before cheap 4K TVs.

I would see this if they cast Will Smith and Chris Rock in the lead roles.

Really poor writing along with pushing political views with zero subtlety is the problem. Hollywood has quit trying to please the audience, just preaching these days.

I'm so confused by all these comments.

What do you mean by "Original idea"?

Is that the name of the next Marvel movie?
