I got this about three weeks ago from a certain website that can't be mentioned here. The price was a bit higher than this, but I live in a state with very high sales tax.

In terms of the mount, it isn't that bad if you do some planning. If you want it to be fully flush against the wall you will need an inset box for the power receptacle (I also stuck my Apple TV in there). You also will need to recognize that unlike most TV mounts, this one doesn't have any real room for adjustment side to side. The spacing of your joists will dictate where the TV can be centered unless you tear out the sheetrock and install blocking between the studs. I did it myself in about 3 hours including install of a 14"x14" inset wall box.

I will also add that I own a 77' LG C1, and this TV is phenomenal. Stunning picture. It replaced a 65" Samsung QN90A, and there is no comparison. It's a tremendous improvement.

Good deal for the 65 G3. Unfortunately I'm waiting for the 77.

but what if i sit too close to the tv? won't that be bad because of how big it is? isn't there a distance that makes it not beneficial?
You can sit much closer to a 4K TV than an old HD 1080P set. In fact, in order to see all the details it's *recommended* that you sit closer. I sit about 4.5' away from my 65" and 7 to 8 feet away from my 77.

i had no idea, thank you! is it okay to still sit close if you don't watch a lot of 4k content or no? i'm sure sometimes i will watch 4k, but most of the time, i just watch youtube tv or netflix which isn't showing in 4k. does that matter?

currently my primary is a 55, thinking of whether to go from 65 to 77.

Yes it's fine to sit closer to 4K TV's showing HD content. While you won't get all the details of true 4K, all of them have some sort of upscaling. Some upscaling is better than others. Of course, the best way to see for yourself is to go to a physical store and check them out from the distance you'd be watching at home.

Deal is back up. Second time ordering- first one I received was a defective (flickering line at bottom at first and then shutting off randomly which quickly became constantly). Hope I just got a bad panel.

Did Beach Camera let you return it without any fees, or did you just return it to Walmart yourself?

The one I ordered was fulfilled by Walmart which offered returns to Walmart store, fedex pickup or drop off, or USPS dropoff. Plan to drop it off there tomorrow. I did reach out to Beach Camera to try and exchange, but they said they can't due to third party policies with Walmart. I noticed later in the weekend last weekend that it switched from fulfilled by Walmart to ship and sold by Beach Camera which I think is not eligible for Walmart store return so something to watch for before you add to cart if you want the return to Walmart option.

Great inputs. I'm planning to have the TV installed on a the indoors side of an external wall that receives crazy amount of direct heat from the sun during the summers (in AZ). That wall has interior batt insulation (R18?) between the 2x6's. How deep is the inset box? Do you think it will interfere with the insulation (like maybe squish the insulation too much to make it less effective) or perhaps get overheated as it will be almost exposed to the elements.
That is the only thing that is keeping me from getting a G series for that room.

EDIT: I have a 83" C1 right now and have had a 77" C7 earlier. Is the upgrade to a G3 noticeable in a dark room (for watching UHD bluray movies) ?

I think the box install would be difficult to manage with exterior insulation. I would also be concerned about heat affecting the TV long term if you had to significantly compress or remove insulation where the box was installed. The box is designed to fully fill a wall gap framed with 2"x4". 2"x6" would allow for a bit of leeway, but I wouldn't want to compromise insulation especially in a harsh climate like AZ.

It's OK you don't have hate on OLED Tv's and be jealous. Maybe one day you'll be able to afford one. OLED is the best. Just don't have stagnant images on your TV for a long time as with any type of monitor. OLED are just a little more sensitive to it.
