I wonder what makes this set so special, they decided to put "for Gunsmithing and Firearm Maintenance" in the name, since there is no torque driver in it.

Lots of bits that correctly fit the various screws on various firearms. Have you never seen or bought one that someone had mangled the screws with the wrong tool?

Maybe not a kit for everyone. But well worth it if you are in the right environment.

I could see that for homes that have one or two screw drivers. But if you own one of those big sets that have all sizes, allen wrenches, and various square and star bits (forget their name at the moment), you probably already have these. Please correct me if i am wrong, but i don't see the appeal over other screwdriver sets this big.

Well I'm certainly no expert but as I recall it seems like there's some very particular screws that they using guns and they're easily stripped so yeah you're right for low-level stuff you're probably just fine using what you got but you know if you're a gun guy and you got a few and you want to mount your own Scopes and your you know doing your own stuff then it's probably well worth it

This is the one you need if you are collecting or working on any significant number of old military surplus rifles. AR's and other modern firearms may require little more for maintenance and basic upgrades than a couple of punches and a hex head, but to get 100 year old SMLE's out of their stock requires about five completely different flat head screwdriver bits. If you use the wrong sized head, or try to make do with a standard tapered flat head screwdriver from the hardware store, and you can seriously mess up these often quite soft old screws. Worse still if you are dealing with a stuck screw. You need the exact right bit, and this kit probably has it. There is an upgraded version that includes a few highly specialized things like the bit to remove the stock reinforce on K98 Mausers but unless you are an actual gunsmith or have a project in mind you likely won't need these.

Seems to speak to what we are talking about.

Either way I really appreciate the Civil discussion
