For those that are unfamiliar with WESCO; it's manufactured by Positec[wikipedia.org]. Positec is a Chinese based manufacturer that is mainly known for their WORX and Rockwell tools. So IMO you should expect WORX qulaity and performance from Wesco. In my experience WORX has been acceptable/good enough...
I have a Toro 60V mower. It works great as long as I mow regularly and not cutting too much grass at once or if it's too wet. I can do my yard with one battery, unless I get bogged down in any areas where it might run out prior to finish. Because of this and for long term, i'd like to get at least one replacement battery and I wonder if this brand might work in my Toro. IF voltage is the same, is it safe to use another brand 60V battery (actually 54V) if i can get the pins wired up? I think these batteries still just use 2 wires, a + and - so really forgetting about if it will fit, i just want to know if i get those correct would i expect batteries to be interchangeable?
Probably not. The cases on the batteries have molded in slide rails corresponding to the mower / charger that very by brand. Also physical size variations.

Most likely. The electrons don't know the brand supplying the voltage. While different battery chemistries provide different peak amperages, since these are for the same task, they likely will be similar. The main issue will be getting the connection of the wires to be stable as you mow.
Thanks, this is what I was thinking. The battery "cavity" at the top is pretty large. If i can get an old "for parts" 2ah Toro battery for cheap i can use it for the connection parts to interface with.
I've been using a 13" SunJoe for two years. It does the job well. $150ish for a 22" is great deal. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to need a second battery, but $30 is not a bad price for a second battery.
I also have a Ryobi 40V 21" self-propelled that I use at another larger property. I bought that refurbished for around $250.
Hopefully you will get the self propelled version as my limited half ars research indicates that the WS8706U being sold at Woot has that feature. Here's the result of my Cheap Basterd Investigation...
2 - I contacted the seller on Amazon about the mower having self propulsion and received confirmation that it does indeed have it. Here is the correspondence...

Cheap Basterd Half Ars Investigator - Is the mower self propelled? I saw a few YouTube videos for the model WS8706U and they do have the self propelled feature. Please let me know; thank you.
DooDahDeals - Thanks for reaching out. Yes, the mower is self-propelled!
Kind Regards,

Overall, I think this was a decent deal especially for the 22 inch. My hesitation and half ars investigations caused me to miss out unfortunately though. Please let me/us know if in fact you received the self propelled version if you can and congrats on the deal.

Got an email from UPS stating my order will be delivered tomorrow. I hope you're correct about this being self-propelled.
A true Slickdeal'er buys now, think about it later LOL!
Same here on the Self propelled. I also got the extra 5 ah battery from Amazon for 30 dollars. The same battery by the same sellers also sells it on eBay for 30 bucks. I am wondering if I Shd buy an extra charger for it, given this is likely a close out thing and parts may not be available in the future
I bought the extra battery from eBay for $30, which came yesterday. It looks brand new and was sealed.
The 22" mower was also delivered yesterday. It is self propelled. Had to re-seat the self propelled lever end back into the hole on the left side of the mower handle (somehow it popped out during assembly or was never inserted for packing). Other than that, it was easy to assemble.

Classic example of a half-truth?

1 - Both [youtube.com] of these [youtube.com] reviews indicate that the WS8706U is in fact self propelled and their Amazon links go to the same model/description that was sold on Woot [amazon.com]. Also, the Youtubers received the mower for free as payment for doing their reviews ergo their opinion is suspect IMO.
