The truth is, no one knows what will happen at the end of November 2024 when the Verizon acquisition is official. Verizon has said "Your current Tracfone Service Plan will remain available for use on VoLTE-ready phones at least until Nov. 23, 2024." It has not announced what will happen to legacy Tracfone plans after that date. My guess is Verizon will consolidate Tracfone users into one of its already existing pre-paid phone plans like Total. But again, this is speculation. The Tracfone brand is relatively well known so the company may choose to keep it.

Currently Verizon has 168 Billion market cap. so 7 billion for tracfone is a drop in the bucket, if it did gut Tracfone! To gain more Verizon accounts. The Big 3 : Verizon, AT T, t-mobile.
Verizon already owns Tracfone but agreed not to shut down services like Net10 and Simple Wireless until this November. Whether they do, nobody knows.
Sadly, I've seen many people, destitute ones using expensive I phone and etc. This probably make them feel good, booster for self esteem. I don't see anything useful out of phone thing, only thing smart of these garbage is the manufacturer tricking naive people to spend tons of money in useless and worthless toys. We're living in a material world, that makes them feel like they belong in a human race, and companies like Apple or Samsung knows how to exploit destitute group.
I will give you market cap link so you see how much Verizon has.
Verizon has a market cap or net worth of $165.35 billion as of January 19, 2024. Its market cap has decreased by -4.40% in one year.

Why don't you give links to what you are saying.
Thanks OP for this deal, I like the $1 donation too to make it easy and for a worthy cause, who knows how much of it QVC keeps and actually donates...
I looked into the diff between A14 5G for $20 more, and decided to get the A13 5G, just worse front facing camera, lower resolution (not blurry, maybe more pixelated, for those discerning), slightly more compact form, but also more battery runtime vs the A14 5G.
As for the MediaTek chip, it's based on similar ARM reference design as Snapdragons, but w slightly less performance that most people will not notice. At ~$34 shipped w 1 yr service added, is a great deal. People need to understand there will be trade-offs for deals like this, you can't always have your cake and eat it too. Brand loyalty is the core cause of inflation and corporations know this, it's how they can keep raising prices, knowing there's lock-in from consumers. But if one were more flexible about shopping & knows what the real value of a product vs marketing fluff, the consumer will come out ahead, and your pocketbook will thank you.
I decided to go with the A14; with taxes and coupon, ~$66.

... I did research, maybe help us out, and actually research this.
We are only in Jan 2024 and Nov 2024 is about 10 months away, so I am sure it will be interesting ride.
Close the loopholes that their buddies in Congress gave them . . .
"In fact, only one-third of families succeed in maintaining their wealth into the next generation. And get this: 9 out 10 wealthy families lose all their wealth by the third generation.1 That is nuts. This happens for a lot of reasons"

These very low end are very frustrating to use for adults, kids, senior. The Moto G, N30, Pixal 6a are better value and usable for much longer.
how about those of us that only want to spend around $30 though and don't care about unlimited or 24 gb of data or feel the need for a Google Pixel 6a?...for us "low end" guys this is plenty fine for me..in for 1 thnx op
