I thought the same at first but the flexibility of running this for 10+hours on battery or plugged in indefinitely to light a work area is invaluable. I got tired of using my 18650 lights. Plus being able to use my Ridgid batteries and LSA are huge for me. The right tools can make a job much easier.

This light plus two others typically as a combo pack go on sale every November and December for $129 for those that don't really need it.

I have this light. It is really nice for those that do want it.

I picked up the Ryobi one similar to this except 3000 lumens on Black Friday for $50 without battery or charger. It is solid and I have no complaints. I like that you can plug it into an extension cord and you can mount it on a Tripod. I've used it multiple times and it works great!!
I am tempted to get this one for the extra 4 amp battery (I have some Rigid tools too), The battery is $50 on DT right now without a charger (another $30) - so yeah, this is a good deal IMO.

Can you post the SKU of the unit you bought? Did it also include the battery and charger?

That light dropped in price quickly. It's very heavy and unnecessarily bulky
True about it being bulky. I paid $30+tax for it. But it seems well constructed and durable plus backed by Costco's return policy.

I don't need the optical lens style and the clamp is not needed. I bought one on ebay some chinese brand with a tripod socket and magnet. Smaller size but about the same lumens.

Bought one a few days ago when I first saw this, and after receiving it bought another one. Have plenty of light stands and this includes a battery and is way brighter than most other brands options. Unfortunately the battery is the new style of Ridgid battery without rubberization though.

Ive had one of these RIGID lights for about 4 years now and Iam happy with it . I dont use or own the battery for it but only use the wall plug/connector and have zerro complaints ~. Its a Great light imo, still going strong after heavy usage , still in perfect cond (no broken or cracked parts) and the fold up part is nice and portable and very protective as well .
~ Not a bad price with the battery & charger as I paid $80 four.+ yrs ago for the light only . ~ Still happy I bought it non the less ~~~

Got this for $50 without battery a few years ago. Use it ALL THE TIME. It's so bright too. Probably my most used tool haha.
Same. I only get the big lights out for major drywall or painting jobs. Otherwise this is all the light I need. And no, I am not tempted to get another because… this is all the light I need! But I also have the big husky tripod with two BRIGHT led work lights. If I could only have one, I'd have the Husky because sometimes I need that much light.

I noticed that about the newer style battery. Do you know any other difference with the battery? I'm having an odd issue with one of my batteries where it's charged but if it sits for a while it seems dead (no bars and the tool will not power on). If I charge it for a few seconds, it's back to almost full charge and works normally in the tool.

Found 1 at my local HD, $75 on clearance rang up at $67 at checkout. It's the version with the Gray color on panel instead of the orange in this post. Been wanting one to go with my ridgid fold stand and 9amp battery.
I saw this at my HD and it was also listed at $75 but it was tool only.
