Anyone know if the outputted sound is "Omni Directional" or just the input? I have other Walker muffs, while great only provide mono sound in each ear. Zero directional awareness of where a noise is coming from. Tried a bit of googling and the lack of info suggests this "omnidirectional" sounds is combined into mono output.

Still a wonderful price regardless, just looking for an upgrade.

Edit: you can only believe 3% of what you find on reddit but this suggests I might be right

Yep, single speaker in each ear. I was hoping maybe a smaller profile than the Xtrm, but I could find confirmation.

I'm cool with a single speaker in each ear, just looking for stereo sound (two speakers in each ear would be better though). My current Walker Razers are great but not the "quad" version. I would have assumed this model would have stereo sound vs combining all sounds into a single mono output however that doesn't seem to be the case.

I will give even the mono Walker's props. You do have amazing situational awareness with these on and turned up slightly. You can hear every squirrel moving through the trees...you just have no clue where he is Wink

Honestly the non-quad versions work great with just a single mic per side. Not sure how much of an upgrade this would even be without directional audio.

Great price. I will say that if you let the "leather" headband get wet, it will flake and peel faster than a wally world couch

Thanks, just got a new pair. I used Razor X-TRM's for about four years. Paid $39 at Sam's Club and still see them there at that price. They held up great and the batteries lasted a long time. I went to grab them for my last duck hunt of the season and discovered the gel ear pad blew up all over my hunting bag and stained/ruined some of my stuff. I think they were a little wet when I put them away, but not sure what exactly caused it.

I would also save your money on the Howard Leight ones on Amazon. They do not fit as well as any of the Walker's and my sound went out in one ear after 3-6m.

Don't expect to know what direction anything is with this mic. I found it useful for actually hunting.

Single speaker in each ear is 2 speakers total…aka stereo bro 😐. I think what you want is 1 mics each going to their respective ear speaker. Having 2 speakers in each year won't make a difference unless there's 2 mics to go along with it and maybe dimming the opposite ears feed slightly to simulate the most realistic sound.

Glad the title was updated to remove the "Game" in the name. I originally came looking to see if they started making gaming headphones and was very confused; lol!

These kinda hurt my head and my friends have had similar experience. I now use Peltors Comtacs but normal 3m peltors should be fine for most people. I would also get the gel pads. The clamp pressure on these walkers is really really tight.

Based on reports (I found) online all 4 mics are fed into a single channel therefore you get mono audio, regardless of the number of speakers or mics (per ear). Noise on your left side front mic is combined with the left side rear mic and that is combined with the right side front mic & rear mic...then fed equally into both ears so everything sounds like it is coming from everywhere. Works fine for having a conversation but not knowing where a sound is coming from.

What I want is sound coming from the right mic to go into the right ear and sound from the left mic going into the left ear. Just like humans hear. Many electric muffs do just that, and many don't. Thus why I am asking the question.

My goal is to have situational AND directional awareness. Otherwise it just sounds like an all powerful voice is emanating from the ether...I get enough of that with the voices in my head Wink

That's the problem though, if you cover your left ear you will still hear sounds on the left side of your head from your right ear (albeit, won't be able to determine direction). So technically you need both mics going to both, just at different volumes. You brain uses both ears and the volume each ear receives to determine the location of the sound.
