I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that "slim fit" refers to the cut of the shirt, not the models aka it's not a relaxed fit.

Just how many did you buy?
These fit great before washing, better than the EB XL Slimfits. BUT after washing they obviously did shrink at least half a size...mostly in arms which are definitely too short, but since I always roll mine up not a biggy. Also *after* washing the XL is slightly too tight upper body but will do, fine around waist and but just a tad short on length. I'll keep em for yardwork at this price.
Just out of curiosity, I also got an XXL (I've never tried one in flannel) and washed to see what it'd be like: better than a washed XL for up top, arms and length BUT too baggy on stomach. I'll return the XXLs.
Based on one wash I don't expect them to last very long. Up to about $15 sounds about right, IMO.
For reference, I'm about 6', 49" chest and about 35" waist.
