Can't beat the price per pound including shipping from a reputable seller. That said, these fold very easily with any amount of pressure on them, so they should not be used alone (i.e. without 25lb or larger plates) on the ground.

These and similar ones sold by walmart/amazon have been 1$/lb in bundles many times. These flat hub ones are pretty flimsy though, the similar 'Signature Fitness' ones with a rounded hub are much sturdier and are the ones I've had for over a year with 0 issues

Saweet! I didn't even bother to look if deal I got was still active. Got another pair for $16.15. They do smell like rubber, but faded away after a week or so. I mainly use on a vertical leg press so I don't know drop durability. Cheaper than iron weights so that's why I get them.

Yes, I have these for use with a hex bar, and they can not stand up on their own. I recently had shoulder surgery, so I was trying to do lighter weight. 25lbs seem to be the min weight that will hold itself.

Agree, for the price I would recommend the CAP Budget or Better versions of bumpers compared to these. Multiple reviews of "balance from" having terrible customer service and not standing behind their products.

There is an excellent YouTube video of Gluck's Gym water jet cutting a ton of bumper plates open. CAP wasn't included but these Balance From plates were in that video, and the results were sub-par.

Check out "Technique plates". They are generally solid molded plastic 10lb plates still at the olympic spec diameter and can withstand being dropped. They just don't cushion like rubber but they can take abuse and still give you proper form with the correct diameter plate.

Hah, those reviews are all over too.

To be fair, you don't have to put your nose right up to them. Cheap bumpers and rubber flooring / horse stall mats will off gas for a while. And it's strong.

If you are using these in a basement, home, or garage gym, it will be a strong smell. For a while.

When I got my rubber floor mats the entire basement smelled for weeks. They were potent.
