Straight up - if you're getting a TV of this size, PLEASE make sure you are positing it right! You're going to need it to be lower than you imagine as the goal is to watch TV in the middle of the screen. I can easily imagine this being mounted too high and it looking crappy.

This should be like a projector. Remember in school the teacher would pull it down and it would be a bit low? That was so you could sit in your chair and easily see it. Don't mount high!!!

Yes it was only made public 2 weeks ago at the CES 2024, came out faster than thought just happened to be on Best Buy site and was like is this real, someone will need to comment on differences between 2023 U8K and 2024 U7, I figure I can cancel if its big, but u8k 100" has been out of stock for a long time and it costs more

100" U8K or this?
U8K is much better. Should be asking TCL S5 for $2000 or U8K for $4000 (or maybe less if sale again— if it ever decides to come back in stock)

Don't do it, Hisense are junk. I've got one a few years old and it's terrible. Software on it is slow and completely unresponsive. Even switching inputs from the Roku I hooked up and game consoles is an issue. The local dimming is also flaking out recently, and very obviously a software issue not hardware failure. Picture is good but when it's unusable due to the software that's a moot point. I don't think there could ever be a deal good enough to get me to buy another of this brand, it's been that bad of an experience. Started about 2 months after getting it, multiple resets and other things have not resolved the issues. Complete junk

I think some people are getting too much into the weeds here with tech specs and wanting the absolute best for cheap. These are all great tvs being debated…you won't go wrong with these once you have them at home.

Guy who helped mount my 100" said it looks way bigger than the 98" he mounted recently.
Doesn't he have a lazy eye, though?

Wait until your area gets the capability to REALLY use that ATSC 3.0 tuner in it. My locals all broadcast 1080p in their subset of channels and it's drastically different than tuning into their normal 720p/1080i ones.

NOTE: Did have to connect my G2 to the internet to unscramble the channels, which was a bit disappointing as I didn' wanna give such network access...
Agree 100%. Lucky enough to get all ATSC 3.0 channels available in my area (5 in my case. CBS/FOX/ABC/NBC/CW) and enjoyed Wild card and Divisional playoffs past 2 weeks. Looking forward to conference championship this weekend!

Just ordered from Bestbuy! Wish me luck. I feel bad because my Samsung 85" Q90C arrives tomorrow and now I will have to refuse the delivery.
you won't regret it with what you paid. Hisense is better Tv than the Samsung
model and the price is much less!

I literally just bought the 98 S5 TCL.
This would be $500 more but if it's crazy better quality I would make the swap.
Thoughts?

I made exactly this mistake with my 85. Its not awful, thankfully, but it def needed to be lower than I thought

No, unless it's the U8K.

This has just over 1,600 dimming zones- hard pass for a tv this size!

Incorrect. 1600 would be great. This has only 256.
