use distilled water?
You shouldn't use distilled water. It's terrible for flavor & corrodes brass fittings. Descale every month or so - if used daily - with a solution of citric acid (two tablespoons to one quart of water).

Just fyi to anyone who cares. The Sam's near my house said out of stock online but I went to the store (Tucker, GA) to check and found they had what seemed like 50. There was dust on top of the boxes so they have been sitting there for a while. It might be worth going to your Sam's and seeing for yourself.
thanks man. i placed order in marietta but they cancelled today and now it shows zero available online for all the stores near me.

Compared to the $50 Gourmia deal on BF at Walmart, this Delonghi feels much better built, especially the water reservoir

Not sure if this link was posted earlier, but this is youtube reveiw of this machine and modification tips to get high quality espresso shots and make Latte art. You can use it as is with store ground coffee, but with mods below it can make coffee shop level espresso

https://youtu.be/au92VvBYLrA?si=7MGsmof7C7HGUP_b

I cut off the bottom of the stock portafilter with a hacksaw to make it a bottomless one and bought a Hugh precision 18-22g basket. My son has a Bambino plus and prefers the shots from this machine due to the boiler vs thermoblock.Yes you will need a quality grinder, I got a KinGrinder K4 $90 on Amazon, you will also want a better tamper and a $15 scale that has .1g sensitivity and a timer. But this machine will give you much better drinks than the mass market stores like Starbucks. Below is a Latte I made this morning.

Is this better or a Flair Neo? I am a total espresso noob just getting into making lattes at home. Have never brewed coffee at home, but have started watching Hoffman's videos recently.

$95 here, so not much of a deal.
My local store had it for $89 yesterday but dropped the price to $45 today. So for the folks whose store had a higher price, it might be worth checking back to see if they have reduced it.

This is a good basic espresso machine but you do have to tinker with it a little bit. Very first time I used this machine it felt like it took considerably longer to brew a shot than another Mr. Coffee espresso maker I was using. Never really thought a better tamper or porta filter would improve how the coffee is brewed.

Yes, for me, since it has a steamer. It works shockingly well for such a cheap unit.
This is a great "get to know espresso" machine for the price.

I paid full price for one of these. Model before it lasted me 3 years, this one lasted 11.5 months and had to warranty replace it. Hoping this one lasts a little longer, I only ever use filtered water in it. Makes a decent espresso, heat water on steam function then turn to the coffee for best results.

I've only had this thing for two days and I love it. Espresso, honey and steamed milk, hot water dispenser for tea....everything I need, this machine can do.

Also, mine heats up REALLY quickly. I don't know if that is normal, but I am not complaining....

Good deal if all you want is a cappuccino and won't use the steamer for a latte. I purchased at $90 and returned it a month ago. Too high maintenance and the cappuccino tasted more bitter than it usually does for the same ground using a Bella machine that I was replacing this with. Also the water reservoir is too big for my needs. I needed a simple machine that brewed strong coffee and takes in just the amount of water needed for that brew and steam. This one needs more water, the steam wand puts out hot water (thereby diluting the milk) if not hot enough and there's a wait time between the coffee brewing and the machine heating back up to put out steam. Overall, too high touch for my tastes.
Returned and ended up buying a generic Chinese brand (imusa) on Amazon for $25. Does what I want.
Seems at your need, Nespresso pod would have done a great job. No mess cleaning, and easy espresso, without sacrificing taste.

These lower end espresso machine do work, but cleaning is a hassle. Also on the flip side, it is easy to fix. And for that matter, to take it apart and ... manipulate if you want.
It takes a while to heat up. keep the expectations low.
