I was in my local Home Depot in South Georgia today and found this deal on and Makita chainsaw kit with battery and charger. The battery alone I believe is worth more than the price I paid for everything. I'm sure this is very YMMV so good luck. There was still one left which I was very tempted to purchase just for the battery, but did not.

According to BS my local stores show these in stock and on clearance... might have to stop in and take a look! I have the 12" version of this and LOVE it! I wouldn't use this as my main saw for chopping down a tree but for cleaning up brush it is great!

Why not just change bar and chain instead of whole new saw? Thats what is did on my 22 incher. But really 2" probably not make that much difference anyways (I know that's NOT what she said!) but maybe for your situation.

I would purchase this one as a second saw. One at the cabin one at home. Definitely overkill but for $99 it would be worth it.

Yes if you need one in each location then good deal for that for sure, if you're happy with this platform already and it's performance and all that is.

Picked this up a couple weeks ago when it was $149. It was a bargain at that price. Have used it since for storm clean up and it worked really well on small to medium logs. Wonder if I can go back and get price match to $99 since it's still in the return window?
