Why? This is a low powered amp. Fifty watts per channel is nothing and the same goes for 200 watts to a subwoofer. There are high end factory car audio systems with more power than this.

What would you recommend for a 4 speaker + sub?
Something that will sound decent but won't break the bank.

This amp will sound good. You just won't get the power you would get from running a 4 channel stereo amp and a mono amp for the sub(s).
