Few things to note about these:

They don't require the laptop have DP alt mode on the USB-C connector, which can be a plus, but this means the displays are using DisplayLink which is an abstraction layer built up on USB, and uses the CPU and GPU to render these displays in software. Which if your system is decently powerful and has a dedicated GPU, isn't really a huge issue, but if it has only CPU integrated graphics, DisplayLink performance can be quire terrible under certain conditions, like doing anything that's tasking the GPU with even something as "simple" as YouTube playback, and gaming is out of the question.

They're generally fine for most office uses, but gaming is not going to be a fun experience and if you have no dedicated GPU, even watching videos can lead to the display becoming a stuttering mess.

DisplayLink is useful, but it's not a replacement for a true display connection, like docks that connect over DisplayPort alt mode. But if your laptop doesn't have DP Alt Mode, this is the only way you're going to get a docking station, so it does have some uses.

If you have WalMart GC to burn, they have it also for $20, the seller being HP

Just a heads up, this is a displaylink dock.

Probably fine for most users and office use. Just be aware it will require additional drivers to output video to an external monitor, and you will not be able to drive dedicated GPU graphics to an external monitor with this dock if that is something you need.

Just what I needed. Was looking at the cheap knock offs on amazon. This looks much better and more reliable.

what would the barrel connector power OUT be used for? also if anyone dug into complaints re intermittent disconnects I wonder if just using the DP ports instead of HDMI might help.

I can't find the same model number in that listing as HP, also keep in mind that review score is for ALL listed items and isn't specific to a particular dock model.
Okay....so what reviews do you recommend we look at?

thank you for the quick reply! Wish it had a USB C port to connect my USB C phone charging cable. not possible, right?
Despite what someone above said there IS a USB-C port you can charge from, although charging speed isn't likely to exceed 18W if your phone doesn't support PD.

My current Dell dock is so bad that this can be an improvement. Glad I didn't buy it last time when it was around 40$. Thank you for posting this.

Wow, this price is stupid. Should buy 5 but I'll restrain myself.
You should buy 10. Hurry before it's running out of stock!

Read thread first before you comment, plz - according to prior comments it apparently just requires some driver updates.

Don't believe that original listed price, and this review might be the reason why it's being clearanced:

Got 1 . Just got dual monitors for M1 mac and displaylink adapters are not cheap. Was contemplating getting an ultrawide before this showed up. Got from walmart for easy returns.

DC out is for laptops that do not have USB-C charging capacity.
