Few things to note about these:

They don't require the laptop have DP alt mode on the USB-C connector, which can be a plus, but this means the displays are using DisplayLink which is an abstraction layer built up on USB, and uses the CPU and GPU to render these displays in software. Which if your system is decently powerful and has a dedicated GPU, isn't really a huge issue, but if it has only CPU integrated graphics, DisplayLink performance can be quire terrible under certain conditions, like doing anything that's tasking the GPU with even something as "simple" as YouTube playback, and gaming is out of the question.

They're generally fine for most office uses, but gaming is not going to be a fun experience and if you have no dedicated GPU, even watching videos can lead to the display becoming a stuttering mess.

DisplayLink is useful, but it's not a replacement for a true display connection, like docks that connect over DisplayPort alt mode. But if your laptop doesn't have DP Alt Mode, this is the only way you're going to get a docking station, so it does have some uses.

If you have WalMart GC to burn, they have it also for $20, the seller being HP

Just a heads up, this is a displaylink dock.

Probably fine for most users and office use. Just be aware it will require additional drivers to output video to an external monitor, and you will not be able to drive dedicated GPU graphics to an external monitor with this dock if that is something you need.

I received mine and tested it with a M1 Macbook Air. It is doing 4K 60hz through HDMI. It seems like I might need to select the dock if I want to use the 3.5mm jack on the dock and then switch to my maacbook speakers if I pull out the 3.5mm cable. Maybe there's a setting I can change to change that to just switch to speakers when the cable is pulled out. Otherwise it seems to work well.

I have not experienced this. I also only used mine for about 30 minutes. Maybe the refresh rate is too high for your monitor? Or maybe the resolution is too high? I don't know

I just set it up. SO far so good. Everything looks nice and solid.

I thought the docking station supply power to my laptop also. It doesn't do that right?

Do I need to install the DisplayLink manager software? I didnt install it and I only had one monitor connect to it thru DP and it works w/o any drivers.

If your laptop supports USB PD charging, it will charge your laptop ....
Your PC/laptop pre-installed DisplayLink either OEM or company provision pack.
you don't necessarily need to install the DisplayLink manager

I ordered from Walmart and was waiting for the 3 items i ordered. The shipment was delayed and then I received the following from Walmart:

"We're sorry, we had to cancel some items
Unfortunately, your previously delayed items from order 200011743309888 still haven't shipped. Since we won't be able to deliver them by the date we estimated, we had to cancel. Don't worry – you weren't charged for this order. Our apologies for this inconvenience."

Bummer!

Mine arrived today. It comes with wires for international use, not bad.

I was able to connect it to my Macbook Pro (M1) and then realized I needed the Displaylink drivers. Right after I installed the drivers it picked up the other monitor immediately.

Working OK so far.

Ditto on receiving the cancelled order. I thought I remembered receiving an email from HP.com around the same time I got the cancellation email from Walmart. It started with a "We regret that due to shortages" or something like that so I assumed it was also a cancellation message like Walmart's. I just went back and read it and it said, "We regret to inform you that due to unexpected supply constraints, we are experiencing a delay in the shipment of your order. We now expect to ship your order on or before: January 31st", so it wasn't actually cancelled from HP. They may have confused Walmart.

For some reason the supplied USB-C cable would only charge my Android based Pixel phone. I even tried c->a>c as per https://support.displaylink.com/k...th-display . I ended up using a known working usb-c cable and it worked and charges as well. Oddly, I get prompted twice about sharing the video before it actually does so.

I just did an initial test and haven't used it for a while to give any impressions.
