Online was discounted to $249, but in the local store they had them for $199. No need to hack this deal to get the best price. A worker told me these are inventory from the holiday sale ($249) and are not advertised. They had seven left in my local Apex, NC store.
The DEWALT DCN680B 18-Gauge Brad Nailer drives 18-Gauge brad nails from 5/8 in. to 2-1/8 inches. This nailer is ideal for fastening decorative molding, casing, kitchen crown and shoe molding. DeWalt deserves nothing but shame for still selling this tool. It's huge, it's got the stupid ramp up noise and it's expensive despite poor performance. DeWalt is at least 5 years and 2 generations behind Milwaukee in 18g nailers. Definitely not worth $200, would be an okay deal at $100 (which is the price of the craftsmen, which is the exact same tool).
Ryobi's last generation P321 is a significant upgrade over this, their current generation p322 even moreso. The Milwaukee guns are worlds better.
DeWalt's pin nailer gave us hope that a new generation of brad guns was coming but it's been crickets.
If you like quality tools don't buy this outdated dinosaur. This is coming from a diehard DeWalt fan.

Good to know. I needed an 18g nailer for a whole house of trim work and all I'm almost fully stocked with Dewalt so like many of us locked into one brand. It is a little heavier than I expected but not bad; I used the lightweight Powerstack battery today. I will give this to the guy that's helping me, all his Dewalt tools were recently stolen. By the time I need another one I'll look around and see what's available.

You'll see a lot of DeWalt guys using their DeWalt batteries with an adapter and the Ryobi guns, for many that's the only Ryobi tool they own. The Milwaukee's are great but $$$. The DeWalt gun will work it's just long in the tooth.
I'm a big dude, big hands, was able to handle it I suppose...but it's top heavy, unbalanced, not user friendly at all. For production work, this is a very bad choice imo.
Will be returning to try out the Ryobi.
Will buy the Dewalt battery>Ryobi tool adaptor on amazon...did not know that was an option.

Funny thing is milwaukee is coming out with an even smaller one on m12 in the next month or 2. Looks to only be a bit bigger than their pin nailer which is comically smaller than this dewalt one.
I see so many guys who run all dewalt but still use pneumatic guns because their battery ones are still so bad.

Well the good thing about the nailers is they use almost no battery, even a 2ah could last all day or even for an entire job depending on how big it is.
So you could pick up a cheap battery/charger on ebay for the m18 gun.

I was really hoping for dewalt to update these, it's like they just gave up. I have a komo 18ga combo and milwalkee 15ga nailer. It's like you just have to find other brands that work well and are on-sale then run battery adapters

Check HD today, they have a special buy of the day, including the newest ryobi brad nailer (p322) and a 4AH for $160 ish. Or you can get the Milwaukee brad nailer bare tool for $200-259 (price varies based on location - do a search to find the post)
I've had this brad nailer for the last 2 seasons. I've built planter boxes with it the last 2 years. It is a little bulky and has a ramp up of about a second but it gets the job done and I haven't had any problems with it. Knock on wood.
Smaller would be better though.
You can get the porter cable which is literally the same exact tool for $143 on eBay rn.
No reason to spend much more on Dewalt name brand in this case
Another option/recommendation (from a solid DeWalt fan): skip this one and get the Craftsman (i.e. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BZQXGXDN/). The bare-tool option is often available at Amazon and Home Depot for ~$100 and it's very similar to the DeWalt one (if anything, it's the tiniest bit better). For the price, it's a no-brainer by comparison.
I missed out on the Milwaukee deal but I did see the Dewalt on clearance....Of course not as sweat by any stretch but $199 is not bad. Talked to associate and he expects to clearance soon by more next week.

Where does someone pick up one of these adapters? And do they just work for Ryobi?
