As far as I can see that's only for existing customers

No way, I paid less than $800 for my S22 Ultra, I wouldn't pay $800 for S24 Ultra, it will be that price very soon. The original price of $1200+ is too high for S24U

That's a very good trade-in value from Samsung for a 6-year old phone (that they might be able to resell in bulk for $40)! Guess they really want to keep Note 8 users in the Sam fam.

Many people have recommended I look into Verizon and ATT, given I have a broken phone and they both will offer $1000 trade-in value with a 3 year commit. I went to both of my local stores, and both have recommended I stay on my $25/mo plan and buy the phone full price. I love the honesty from both sales people, and I already knew that was true. I was thinking maybe they could sweeten the deal either by reducing my monthly payment for a new plan or add in some goodies. They could not.

As of now, given I cannot get any trade-in for my broken Note10+ without committing to a plan, it seems the best financial decision is to buy from Amazon where I can get $200 off + 5% back. This is assuming I want an S24 Ultra now. I could always wait or get a more affordable phone.
Is it broken as in not operational? Most of these deals are designed to get people to switch from grandfathered plans. Look at samsung.com with edu you'll get a better deal for unlocked phone

Who is your wireless carrier? These numbers are all highly correlated to current trade in promotions. Spectrum mobile just gave me $850 in trade for my S22 5G towards The S24 ultra for example.
This is for s24(not ultra, not plus) with s22 trade in

Mine is tmobile, but my plan is Kickstart plan, which does not get those deals. But I'm ok with it because I pay only $29.99 for all unlimited, so I have no reason to change my plan.

I wasn't aware I could get the edu offer as a parent. Using the edu offer, the $100 instant samsung credit, trading in an old and functioning Google Nexus, using the affiliate link provide by digitaltrends.com, and a coupon found on wired.com I got the Ultra and Buds2 down to $1,078.54 (including tax). Honestly, not sure how this all worked out, but pretty happy.

This is what I have right now in my cart...

* Galaxy S24 Ultra 512GB (Unlocked) - $968.99
* Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Graphite - $0.00

Order summary...

* Subtotal - $968.99
* Shipping - Free
* Tax - $109.55

Total savings - $680.99...

* Trade in discount - $100 (Other Google phone, old Nexus)
* Bundle discount - $80.50
* Promotional discount - $120
* Referral discount - $67.47
* Educational savings - $185.20
* Instant Samsung Credits - $127.82

It looks like you left about $22 of instant samsung credits unused out of the $150 because I see that you used $127.82 of instant credits.

It got weird once I used the the digitaltrends link. You are right, $150 - $127.82 = ~$22. But Samsung was telling me I had a few cents remaining.

Was confused a moment.

Looks like your deal is for the s22. NOT the s22+.

Starting at $859.99 is not the '+' model.

For the "Plus" model and my 'base" s22 in trade, I'm getting $449.99.

Or am I missing something here?

Correct. I miss when the promos for Samsung directly from them were 1000 off plus free accessories and storage upgrade. It's going to suck when I finally device to give up this fold 4.

I'm convinced Samsung purposely has their website setup in a confusing way with the way they apply and show the various discounts as you're going through the purchase process. Then during checkout they group them at the end to make it look like you got a good deal which convinces most people that they did. But I'm a numbers guy so I need to understand the math and I check everything thoroughly. It pisses me off that they don't show it in a way that's clear to customers.
