If you're going to use these everyday buy Klein blue handle for another $15. I've had my blue Klein's for 3 years with almost daily use cutting wires & steel. Will last you forever(unless you cut live wire) and can cut nails without damaging cutting blade unlike these. Look at the reviews for these where cutting blades shatter after second use and spring breaks. Also able to cut larger things with traditional side cutters vrs most compound cutter (jaws don't open as wide)
Within a week, mine developed a significant amount of wobble from the compound pivots forward— a full 1/4". Although the jaws are aligned, mine don't cut any better than standard diagonal cutters of the same length. I reached out to crescent by phone and email and found them to be non responsive regarding their warranty. I decided to leave these at work for shared use, and they have lasted a year —still cutting ok, and no one has walked away with them.
$10-11 seems like the right price for a middling-quality hand tool with no warranty.

Bought these side cutters about a month ago for my work as an electrician, they've been great. I thought I bought them around $16, I definitely didn't pay $30. I'm considering buying another pair at this price though.

Do you believe they would cut through smaller "Wire Rope" - similar to a garage door guide wire??

I wouldn't use them for that, these would be good for light duty stuff imo copper and aluminum. I believe garage door cable is stainless which isn't very soft stuff. They make cutters specifically designed for that…In fact I just saw those kind of cutters on here
