The kit is $5.00 more but you get 2 more tips +

https://www.amazon.com/Weller-120...ast_sto_dp

Includes: 30W Soldering Iron, Conical Tip 0.8mm (WLTC08IR30), Chisel Tip 4.0 mm (WLTCH4IR30), Screwdriver Tip 4.0 mm (WLTS4IR30), Iron Stand, Solder Aid, Lead-Free Rosin Solder
Nothing special, doesn't adjust temperatures, doesn't come with a case and much extras.
Non-regulated irons are only usable for hack jobs, they run super hot and impossible to keep tinned. The best ones are with the temperature sensor in the tip. They start from around $50 non-fancy branded. For casuals there are just regulated irons without sensor sub $10 non-fancy branded.

PS: the grip in picture #5... good god! At least not grabbing the metal like in some soldering stock photos.

After buying something with adjustable temp, there's no going back.

100% agree, I recently just picked one up and it was a night and day difference. I would seriously recommend anyone shopping for a new iron to up the budget a little and get a better iron. Even for infrequent use, its so much better

I have this one and the tip immediately exploded. It looked a little deformed like there was a bubble in it. After that, it was impossible to solder with. Obviously you can get replacement tips, but I doubt it's ever going to work great.

would LOVE a suggestion for a temp controlled iron anywhere neat $10, un-fancy braded is fine by me. i fall exactly into "casual" category. most of the time i just need to solder up 4 serial wires to a thing, do some stuff, and then desolder it. any direction/link/brand/seller would be very helpful thank you!!!
