yeah that is a summer bag. Not sure how they get away with calling this backpacking. Maybe for walk-up campsite. Not even clear it items have their own bag or if its all supposed to go in that large duffel bag which would make no sense for backpacking
I love the elitist backpackers here in the comments. What are you doing looking at a walmart tent and sleeping bag for in the first place? Not everyone one of us needs our gear to pack into 13oz and have enough stuff to pretend we will be surviving in the wilderness while ignoring the service road that is a mile away.

People are doing their best to educate someone who may think this is a suitable backpacking set, rather than a backyard or car camping set. People come here all the time asking for advice as to whether this or that is a good purchase.

In that case those people are better off renting their gear, they will receive advice and support from the local shop who can give them tips and points on local trails, what to do, precautions etc. We all start with a kit like this and tailer it over time to meet our needs. The elitists jump on the fact that this is too heavy, sure for them and their needs.
The first timers need to know if the quality of this is any good, will it leak, do zippers fall apart after one use, bugs get in everywhere, sleeping bag is more of a blanket etc. And everyone one of them packs allot more junk then they will ever need or be able to use the first few times.
It's like trying to convince RV owners they can enjoy the outdoors out of the back of their station wagon just the same without the dishwasher and the Satellite TV.

I guess the difference between you and me is that I went on forums and asked advice about what affordable, relatively light weight gear I should buy. Because I did that, I am still using the same gear I bought 4 years ago, rather than being super disappointed and having to junk it all and re-buy.
Ozark Trail gear is really hit or miss. I've had excellent experiences with Ozark trail peripherals like chairs, canopies, assorted kitchenette gear, etc. My little bag liner from them is also a lifesaver for eeking out a few lower degrees than my 20° bag can handle. As far as tents, they're constructed like you might expect affordable gear to be constructed and always seem to have issues at corners and seams that aren't covered by rainflies.
I really like the look of this tent, but I don't see it standing up to backpacking. The bag may as well be thrown away from the looks of it. There are a ton of camping sales going on right now, I'd personally take a look at some of the other budget brands and pay a bit more for better gear. Cabela's, Sierra Design, and Kelty are always good places to start (though even Kelty has had issues with their seams of late). For a bag, look at Marmot, Slumberjack, or REI.
