Great tool but unless you know you're only going to cut small pipe/conduit with it, I'd recommend getting the DCS374 or DCS379 instead. The 1.75" size DCS377 really limits it's usefullness.

I like them for cutting conduit and pipe. Not as many burs and easier to control and more accurate than a sawzall

This may not be necessary for the average homeowner/DIYer, but they are a such a pleasure to use. They cut so much faster and smoother than a reciprocating saw and without the mess and sparks of a cutoff wheel. They also cut through thick steel surprisingly quick and easy.
The main benefit is that you can hold the material with one hand and the tool with the other hand and cut with little drama. Try that with a recip saw or cutoff wheel and best case is you make a mess of the cut, worse case is you make a mess of yourself.

If you don't mind a corded portable band saw, one of the harbor freight ones (hercules) is going on sale coming up on the next tent sale for only $110 or so, and it has a big 5" cut width. And the tilting stand that fits many different ones that size for only $100.

Can one use an angle grinder with a cutting blade to do the same?
yes but this is better tool for that.. you could also cut pipe with hand hacksaw but this is better

Looks like it's designed specifically to handle cutting Unistrut which makes it insanely useful for electricians, plumbers and mechanical contractors.

It's a pain to cut strut with a full-size bandsaw if you're doing a ton of it because of the weight, which also makes it difficult to cut straight (most people don't care but some do)

I had to watch a few videos to find out. It seems to cut metal very fast But if your not cutting a lot of angle iron or pipe you can just do it with other tools like you said. I do that so rarely I just assume use my jigsaw or reciprocating saw. If I where to get one it would be a larger model but I have no need to 4" iron pipe but that's something for a bandsaw. Not this little one though.

I'm starting to see its benefits. Thanks for your explanation!
You're not alone - I used to wonder the same until I started watching some pro plumber videos on YouTube. Check out this dude @replumb on YouTube - he uses a Milwaukee bandsaw on a regular basis to cut plastic, copper, and steel/iron pipe. It makes extremely clean and drama-free cuts.

Is it me or is this the most unnecessary tool ever? What does it do, that there isn't another tool for that job already? 🤷
You clearly haven't worked in electrical or any other trade that has to cut metal pipe regularly. If you have you'd know bandsaw all over a sawzall all day

Can confirm. My wife keeps asking for 3 3/8" because my 1 3/4" isn't good enough.

You certainly can, but if you have to cut pipe, after pipe, after pipe this will give you consistent, repeatable results without having to give it nearly as much thought or attention
And saves a bunch of time.
