Good find. Unless I'm overlooking something, the shipping kills it for me.

I'm really not the New Balance wearer in our household, and I was pretty disappointed at the 411s and Rainier Lows that I did buy for me / someone who grows into my size. But the 650s did turn out well, although ours checked out at $42.49 in December.

We liked the 623s, I don't recall seeing the 624s simultaneously in stock in our sizes and on sale.

I found the shoes I was looking for listed at the same price on Ebay with free shipping (sold by joesoutlet, which I believe is the same seller).

If you haven't purchased NB's in awhile, really look at the tongues on the shoes and read the description about sustainability - I'd been buying 574's for decades and would occasionally buy others(696) for just running errand shoes, but the tongues on most of their shoes are now super thin(including 574s) and the tread does not last nearly as long. Sustainable for them translated to garbage shoes in half the time or less. I had made a bulk purchase before they switched production and when I finally had to buy more I was so bummed that the 574 and others had gone to crap. I was able to find some 515's that still had a decent tongue, but that is just to tide me over until I can find a new shoe company.

If you like the new version of New Balance, no shade. I just was so bummed. This was like a Kotex level of change in product from what I was used to and I considered it a steep decline.

ETA - they also reduced the amount of suede used on their shoes - no longer in certain sections on the shoe or tongue.

Obviously this is old, but was searching for 574 deals and came across your comment. One pair that I bought had the awful, thin, tongue, but then later all the pairs I've bought have been back to the good one.

I hope they realized how awful they were and switched back for good.
