FWIW: This specific jigsaw has a bad rep amongst the Ryobi 18v tools.

Not sure if Ryobi has fixed it in the past year, but past mentions of this saw on SD bring out the same complaints: the roller guides do not fit the blade properly, causing it to wander like a drunken sailor in port.

I have one, and it's true: the saw is comically difficult to control with any precision. I'm no stranger to woodworking and jigsaws, and using thus one feels like someone is punking you.

The brushless Ryobi jigsaw and Ridgid siblings all use a different roller guide, and all work 100% as expected. This one? Not so much. You can get the job done with it, but it's an exercise in frustration.

Otherwise I'm all-in on Ryobi tools, and have never had an issue with the brand, but beware this one: Unless Ryobi updated it, it really only has any worth as a freebie in a kit.

(TL/DR, you might want to wait for a deal on the brushless one instead.)

I don't know what he meant by not+, but this tool is in the ONE+ lineup which doesn't really mean anything currently. This specific jigsaw is great for the weekend warrior I suppose, but if you like woodworking you should go with the HP lineup. The HP is just the Ryobi professional grade tool, brushless motor, more metal components, more rugged, etc.

No. Not brushless and a small (not + ) battery. For a person that's thinking about getting into the ryobi tools you can't even charge the battery

Isn't this come with an ONE+ 18V 2Ah battery? What do you mean by "not +"?

Anyone with experience of this vs brushless? I don't need the battery. Is it worth it to just get the brushless tool?

Can I use jig saw to cut plywood? Or have to use circular saw?

Besides the comments noted above about this particular jigsaw's quality, a jigsaw can cut plywood but a circular saw will give you a straighter and usually cleaner cut. A jigsaw is more for cutting curves or where you need to leave a vertical cut in the middle of the wood instead of the curved, vertical cut left by a circular saw's blade.
