i got this from bestbuy and i can say, the hinge is definitely not loose. Its rather a little tight which is exactly the root cause of all the hinge issues thats being debated across all the forums. All these manufacturers just ship out these machines without proper calibration, which is stressing the plastic where the hinges are glued to behind the display touchscreen. if your usage warrants lid closure and opening multiple times in a day, i would recommend calibrating the hinges once you have the machine delivered. below is the pic of dell inspiron hinge where that little nut needs to be relaxed to find the sweet spot where it isnt too tight or too loose... this hinge arrangement more or less is same across all the manufacturer..

The argument of better processor is very subjective. Both I5 and Ryzen are very capable processor where Ryzen definitely have upper hand in thermal and power draw efficiency. though on paper specs doesnt really have 100% feedback on day to day usage, here are some comparisons of two processors. I5 definitely shines in the integrated graphics area which is very vital in my opinion with these 2 in 1 models. The other thing to consider is the build quality of yoga vs flex. I cannot speak for the flex models as i haven't personally used one, but Yoga 7I is very solid full metal construction and i am very much pleased especially with the $465 open box excellent i paid with best buy

Advantages of Intel Core i5 1335U
Supports up to 96 GB DDR5-5200 RAM
Has 2 more physical cores
Newer PCI Express version – 4.0
More powerful Intel Iris Xe Graphics (80EU) integrated graphics: 1.41 vs 1.13 TFLOPS
15% faster in a single-core Geekbench v6 test - 2251 vs 1961 points
2% higher Turbo Boost frequency (4.6 GHz vs 4.5 GHz)
This one has Thunderbolt and can charge via USB-C PD, whereas the Costco one has no TB and uses a proprietary power connector.

you still get to place the order in lenovo site, but there is no shipping option. instead you need to select the nearest best buy store to pick it up.

Costco is $600 vs. this one is $550. Costco is "IPS WUXGA (1920 x 1200) Display" vs. this one is 2.2k. I usually prefer Costco because of extra two year warranty but haven't been able to buy any laptop from it yet because prices at other places are much more competitive.

Not to mention that the 7730U is a much older processor than the 1335U since it is Zen 3, not Zen 4. Also, I have this laptop and it a great one. Build quality is solid, Windows Hello works great, the webcam is pretty good and the overall performance is good for a machine I use for school

people on this site seem to hate this laptop for some reason,
it's an upper mid-range convertible with great battery life for 550$
really one of the best options for students.

this one has a 71wh battery compared to a 52wh on the costco one, also the cpu should be less power hungry.
Edit: why is this being downvoted?
I made two statements:
1.about battery size which is a fact.
2. This laptop has an i5u which has 2 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores, it's a low power chip.
The AMD version has the 7730u which is basically a 5800u which came out more than 3 years ago.
Also you can just look at battery testing for both and see for yourself.

Do you guys find the hinge mechanism a bit loose on those? I don't think mime would survive 600 open/close cycles, it feels too loose

When it says glare, what does that mean? Does it have antiglare or is it a fully glossy screen?

Thinking about getting this. Could you elaborate more about the open/close hinge? 600 cycles seem low... I mean, anyone who uses it daily would be opening and closing it more like thousands of times a year...

most of the IPS panels with touchscreen has glossy displays which has glare issues and attracts fingerprints. The glare issue will be more prominent if you have a less NITS displays like the one which this machine has. However it isnt that bad to an extent where you cannot see anything at all, but thats something to keep in mind if you are planning to use the machine outdoors under extreme bright conditions.
