I was about to purchase and noticed a few things that held me back:
1. No m.2 slot, only SSD. This is a significant bottleneck
2. No USB C connector
3. Only has wifi 5 (we are almost at wifi 7!)

Some other things that are normal but good to know for this price range, RAM is soldered on and the fan seems like it could be quieter.

For a few bucks more you can go with several other vendors that don't have the first 3 limitations noted above. I for one think the $20-$30 more could get you a better N100. I see why it's on sale.

The coupon on the page is $30 and if you paste the coupon code at checkout you get another $9.50 off making the final price $150.45.

I would argue that really only the USB-C thing is going to have any noticeable affect for a vast majority of people, and that calling the lack of an m.2 slot a "significant bottleneck" is incorrect.

During normal PC usage including boot and application start the bottleneck isn't SSD speed, it's seek latency, which is similar between PCIE ssds and even the very old now seeming SATA ssds. Difference in boot to windows is literally like two seconds.

Don't let the throughput numbers fool you. On that or the WiFi technology. WiFi 5 is totally fine for pretty much anything anyone would wanna do with this box. Don't be fooled into thinking you need stuff that you don't.

check your ram. The 137 might be with a new customer coupon code or 8gb ram model. verify its the n100 processor and not the n95 .
I did. It's N100 with 16gb and 512gb SSD. Logged in as existing customer too. I have a lot of experience with the BS that goes on with AliExpress, so I'm familiar with the misleading config options and pricing on that website. Attached screenshot for proof.

There's another "Firebat" that is around $120, same specs, but different design. I also see that style on Amazon for more money.

Outside of Beelink, a lot of these no-name mini PCs are found on AliExpress with different "brand" name, oftentimes for cheaper. See example screenshots.

Yes, the N100 is a wonderful chip for transcoding. I've personally never transcoded more then two 4k to 1080 streams but I've seen mentioned that 4 plus would be no problem and my experience seems to learn towards that unless there is a sudden hard cap that I'm unaware of.
I would go a step further and say the N100 is a wonderful chip, along with it's N200 and N300 siblings. The atom and lower end celeron cpus were always such a bad joke. Now you have chips in the same TDP range (or lower) that you can actually use for computing tasks. Nobody tell Intel, but they accidentally made a good, inexpensive cpu!

For N100 alternatives, I've had great luck with the Topton Official Store on Ali. Mini PCs and their two-bay N100 NAS have proven rock solid so far.

Much better to get a sff from dell or Lenovo, look into m90q or m920q models. Will run much better than a n100.

For folks looking to purchase this and use it as a Plex server, why not invest in an Nvidia shield? I have the 2015 nvidia shield with a built-in 500 gig hard drive and it works really well as a Plex server among other things. I also have the 2019 Nvidia shield pro to which I attached an external SSD drive, and that works great since it also includes Dolby vision. Both of these are in the sub 200 range (used). I love the Nvidia shield.
i used to run plex server on a 2019 shield pro and also used it as a client and it got real bad especially with 4k files on a multi tb nas. went with a trigkey g5 n100 for a plex server running on headless ubuntu and its made the experience so much smoother.

shield just feels snappier without all the pms bloat running in the background. consensus is that shield is a good client but a bad server. keep in mind that while hw transcoding is free on the shield (albeit weak), plexpass is required for hw transcoding on a minipc.

ran some efficiency testing with the g5 plugged into a tplink kasa smart plug with energy monitoring, transcoding was done from 4k hevc files ranging from 25-65mbps down to 1080p 8mbps with hdr tone mapping.

idle: 6w
one stream: 15-16w
five concurrent streams: 22-26w

each extra stream only adds about 2.5w to the total and all 5 streams played flawlessly in each browser window. with all that going on cpu stays at only 60% utilization.
all in all very pleased with performance and efficiency of these n100 based minipc.

Good. I don't have a need to transcode (All my stuff is 4K DV/HDR Atmos and lossless compatible) and it works for my needs.

I'm blown away by how powerful these cheap n100 chips are. I've seen benchmarks putting them on par with a i7-6700 intel chip, but with better iGPUs.

Seems perfectly fine for office tasks and watching videos.
I don't agree with you on this. My company start retiring pc's with i7-6700's and i7-4770's and the cpu's are not as fast as this. I recently brought an Intel n95 pc with 8gb of memory and 256 ssd and it is collecting dust, lol.

I have this one which is, 12th Gen Alder Lake-N100 (3.4Ghz), 16GB ram, 512GB SSD, 4K HD, Wifi5, BT4.2, USB 3 and it works fine. I upgraded the SSD from a SATA drive to a NVME drive and it works well and threw in a 2.5" SATA drive as well. Super simple, two HDMI ports, 4 - USB A's and a RJ45. Works great for my garage computer.

If you're patient and vigilant monitoring Amazon for lightning deals, you can get an N100 mini PC for $120-130. Just the other day I got a Trigkey N100 with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD for $114 (lightning deal + coupon). It took me a couple weeks of checking every other day or so. Something to consider if you're looking for a really slick deal.
