these are the best spark plug sockets I have used in 40 years as a mechanic - not sure if the price is that much of a deal ($60 is typical), but the spark plug sockets are the bomb! - they make the job super-easy.

I agree. Sockets with rubber will eventually give. I've JB welded small rare earth magnets to some old spark plugs sockets and it worked great. These are pricey but well worth it if you are frequently removing/installing plugs.

Bought these a while ago for around the same price. They're the same exact set that matco rebrands and sells for way more. Love these sockets!

Avg price is $65.xx and lowest ever is $41.xx, back in 2019. $127 "regular price" is typical nonsense. But yeah, if you need them this isn't a bad price.

But it does not say that $127 is the "regular price". If you click the little "i" next to the crossed out price it explains where that price came from, in this case, it's the MSRP:
The List Price is the suggested retail price of a new product as provided by a manufacturer, supplier, or seller.

I have a similar kit with the bent handle flex head 90 tooth ratchet also. Had it for 10+ years, by far my go to for spark plugs.

While this is a decent price, the problem with this set is that it doesn't have a 5/8 socket without a built in extension. If you are buying this to work on numerous vehicles then you are likely going to find a scenario where you are changing plugs in an engine without enough space for this type of socket. A better solution for a "complete set" would be to buy spark plug sockets in various sizes without built in extensions, buy spark plug sockets with the shortest built in universal extension available, and then buy a set of locking 3/8 extensions that can fit onto the two spark plug types to give varying lengths as needed.

A couple years ago I trashed my rubber gasket model and got the magnet one from AutoZone. It was $7 at the time.
The magnet is wonderful. I use the same socket on my Honda and Toyota since they call out the same size. Super easy job. If I was a mechanic I would buy this set but I just have two cars and only need one socket. Maybe you can save money not over buying.

Are you suggesting the crossed out price isnt inferred to be a regular price? I understand what you're saying, but listing the MSRP, which is always inflated, is disingenuous at best.

I bought mine from some other SD years ago, I just have 2 diff ones for sizing. It almost feels like a cheat code it makes plug jobs on V engines so much easier.

Yes, this has been my experience. I ony have the 6" Gearwrench, and out of all the spark plugs I own, I don't know if owning the 11" one would really help with the hardest one to get at.

I did buy a non-flexing 6" deep magnetic socket with a wrench hex on recommendation, but the Gearwrench worked better in that recommended situation. This is surely a good deal, but I'm not losing any sleep over not owning the full set.
