Discount Tire matches not only the tire price but the free installation as well, at least they have for me the past two sets of tires I've purchased. They looked at the out the door price from Costco and adjusted their price accordingly.

Costco also includes rotation and balancing for 5 years. Which unless you are driving less than 5k miles a year, is pretty much the whole life of the tire.
Plus it includes road hazard for those 5 years as well. DT that is extra. Im not saying Costco beats DT on every tire they share but after fees usually Costco ends up slightly better.

Discount Tire offers an additional 5% off a total purchase of $599 or more when you use a Discount Tire credit card. There's also a 5% military discount.

Dunno if anyone here has experienced this at their Iocal Costco but it seems that tire changes take forever, even if no one eIse is gettin serviced. Goin forward it is may be better to get 'em swapped out somewhere eIse.
It's about an hour at mine and they're always busy.

Plus Costco fills your tires with nitrogen! This keeps your tires fresh and happy.

With costco, it is a whole day affair. Even for tire rotations appointments.
That way, they can get you to apply for their credit card and buy things you don't need. Don't worry, though. Put this $1.50 hot dog in your mouth!

Yeah, I had an installation with Costco, and the time it took was quite long. I even took off the wheel from my car and transported it to the tire center. They should have just done all the tire work without spending time on extra tasks like looking up where my car is parked, jacking it up with the lift, and unmounting it from the car. However, it still took around 2 hours.

I need another set of tires and I have already ordered them. The tire center closes at 8:30 PM, and the latest time slot available to schedule is at 7:30 PM. I hope this is going to make them work faster because they need to get off from work soon lol

DT provides free R&B but not road hazards. I usually go with DT on new tires but when with Costco for the free Road Hazard.

If you want cheap, go to your local hole-in-the-wall tire shop. They will install whatever you bring to them, or even sometime have used tires available. One thing to note, they also don't have safety protocols in place to protect you. For peace of mind as the tires are the only thing keeping you from sliding into a wall, go to America's Tires, Big O, Les Schwab, Costco, etc. You pay more, but they also don't take shortcuts, i.e. rotate tires if the rears won't have more tread after.

I used to just buy my tires from Discount Tire Direct, eBay, Tire Rack, etc., and have my local shop just install for $20 per tire. But then I would be rotating it myself to save money.

1st Costco experience(normally do Discount Tire) I was the first appointment when they opened and first to check in. Took 2 hours for new tires.

They will also be sure to scratch the F out of your sweet alloys.

Doesn't Discount Tire price match or beat others prices?
And it's a hell of a lot easier to get service at Discount Tires. They'll get you out of there in about 20 mins if you make an appt for a rotation.

It will only get worse when they are unionized. The workers have the skill set similar to any department store employee but are paid higher, like In and Out employees. Their service suffers

But isn't discount tire a full no cost replacement where as costco is a prorated replacement.
