I purchased a bunch of bags last sale, I breed blue eyed bristlenose in 4- 40 gallon breaders. Have a bunch left over as I use these in a pinch if I run out of repasshy and I'm in a hurry, or if I know I will be doing a water change the next day. They seem to eat the outside but leave the green middle. It also clouds up the tank and never gets fully eaten even if under feeding. Probably my fault for feeding daily repashy foods and veggies. My zebra colony and my leaped frog colony won't touch em, they are able to eat meatier foods and like shrimp pellets and repashy bottom scratcher and bloodworms. No go with these pellets. Zebra colony just had its first spawn after 3 years last week. Good price thanks for posting
Risking sounding dumb here, but would fish flock to these in saltwater? I live in some canals of the intercoastal and was thinking maybe tossing a few of these out near the dock each day to have a nice healthy view of fish for the kiddos. These are all usually 2-3 inch grunts and smaller baitfish in the gulf.
Edit. nevermind. Seems like this will cause an algae bloom possibly
When I bought a little pleco 8 years ago why did I not check to know that life expectancy is 10-20 years? I have had to buy these things for the past six years! That said, good price and in for one.
I have had 2 plecos for around 4 years now. They were about an inch and a half when I got them. Now, one is about 8 inches, the other around 12 inches.
My plecos have always eaten the whole wafer, nevere just eating the inside or outside.
I have never had an algae bloom because of these.
These are junk IMO. None of the bristlenose plecos (nor clown plecos) I've fed these to will so much as touch them. Even my shrimp are barely interested. Snails are the only ones I've consistently seen who eat these. I should've probably composted them by now.
Hikari algae wafers by contrast, I've been using for 25 years and they're a hit in every tank I've tried them.
