No way. This is the problem with Rtings because there are consumers out there in doing research that realize on certain models TCL R600 there was a panel lottery or they have been burned by HiSense and their manufacturer warranty that is trash. Sure the U8 or whatever might get higher marks in certain areas but the Tizen and Samsung platform is superior to a lot of the Google TV platforms.
If you are looking at this for gaming purely then the 4 2.1 HDMI ports can be a seller as well as VRR. Yea no Dolby Vision kind of sucks but this TV supports all formats on audio pass through. Its not a bad TV for the price.
When posting a deal there is an entry box for "List Price". Since Costco has no "List Price" for this item on their website, I used the lesser of the 3 evils I checked... instead of leaving it blank. "List Price" is: $1599.99 @ Best Buy, $1697.99 @ Amazon, and $1799.99 @ Samsung.

That is the list price for different model .. i.e. Q80C

Smart TV features are not a big deal when you can buy standalone streaming devices. You're right about rtings ignoring reliability. I don't know if they go to the store and buy the TVs themselves or they receive test products from manufacturers but there are many people online complaining about panel lottery. However, looking online most reviews for TCL and Hisense are positive and I think they're improving their QA.
Obviously, Samsung has a premium price but it will likely perform more reliably and you don't have to worry about QA issues. But their premium price isn't because they have the best picture.

Hold on, did you just say Tizen is better than Google? Bwahaha now that is a good one. Sure, if you like being force fed ads, I guess it is... It is also noticably slower after a year or two than Google. And don't even get me started on panel lottery. The term was coined for Samsung TVs specifically.

On cheap Hisense and TCLs the Google TV platform is actually worse than Roku and I have a stand alone Google TV device (Onn) if that tells you anything. Look up reviews. Lots of people note that there is freezing/sound issues in the cheap Google TV platforms.

They don't have a lot of the same feature set and require you to either start your device on a certain HDMI port. For example my Hisense Roku TV the 2 years it lasted was superior in the way that you could select HDMI ports from the main menu, adjust volume from the same remote without having to buy a side kick thing or another universal remote and the ability to pause Live TV as well as integrate the guide into the local channels.

Yes, same goes with cheap Samsung's... You get what you pay for at a price point. At the same price point Google TV is always better than Tizen.
