Is this some sort of Christian religious set? I looked up the meaning of advent and the results were all about Jesus and Christianity.

So, basically and historically, the "season of advent" is related to a countdown of sorts until Christmas.
Because of this, advent calendars tend to focus on the countdown aspect and not always for any specific religious connotation or theme (other than they all get released leading up to December to sell to people that do Christmas countdowns).

That said, make it whatever you want. Have a b-day or other special event coming up? Make it your countdown. Want to open all of them on 1 day? Go for it!

Also, considering that a booster pack is normally priced $4 and there are 5 in here, plus other extras, this is a pretty decent deal.
