I suppose you could use a regular drill, and I have thought about doing that, but for me it would be a chore in itself trying to keep it dry.
I use this to clean the waterline (and a bit below the waterline) of my boat in the marina. Works great and I would never subject my drill to that kind of saltwater abuse.
Why not a drill?
This spins more rpms than most drills, especially your cheap ones you would be using instead. It's a bit more ergonomic than holding a drill ESPECIALLY for arthritis or those that can't constantly hold in the drill trigger. It's designed for wet situations.
Sure, use your cheap drill when water is not involved and you aren't cleaning for more than a minute or two.
Main use:
Pair this with the Ryobi EZ power washer, use that first with 5 gallon water bucket, in your bathroom to cut down on cleaning time and actually improve the annoying experience somewhat.
Secondary use:
Cleaning rims
Third use:
Spring cleaning (your yearly house scrubbing)
It will serve you well for the above and more importantly it allows us to mentally clean more as the job is quicker and less cumbersome now with this tool.
Before on the right and after on the left.

So power washing showers is the way to go?
Will it lead to grout cracking sooner from the pressure wash?
