Picked this up a little over a year ago for $900. Great generator. I can run my entire house with it when running on gasoline. Bought a kit to run on natural gas should I choose to. Haven't lost power for longer than a fifteen minute stretch since. 😅

Can you tell me which conversion kit you bought? Tri fuels don't seem to go on sale very often so thinking of getting a kit for a dual fuel.

The tri-fuel version of this (they look functionally the same) on Sam's club is $850, which may be a nicer solution than a conversion kit on the dual fuel. https://www.samsclub.com/p/wgen95.../P03020838

I think there's a tri-fuel version of this near the same price, but I'm not sure about the features/capacity. Might be worth looking into before you splurge.

The link takes me to the Westinghouse 12500 Watt Dual Fuel Home Backup Portable Generator, Remote Electric Start, Transfer Switch Ready, Gas and Propane Powered, and not the advertised 9500 Peak Watt portable generator, which still shows as $849 (once I navigated to the proper listing).

Ok, I rescend that statement. The Sams unit is not available for pickup or delivery and ground/freight is the only option (for my area.) And, that freight delivery is $221 or "free" if you are a Sams Plus member. If not a Plus member the cost of the Plus is $110.

Great deal on a feature-crammed generator if it is available for pickup or free delivery in your area.

This is a fantastic price for this, I paid over $1k for this two years ago upon moving to Texas. I've only needed it once, but I hear this year is going to be a different animal when it comes to storms, glad I have it.

Still $800 for me at 6 pm PST. Great deal and no CO detector to cause annoying shutdowns. This generator can auto-start when you are not home in the event of power failure for refrigeration or other critical loads. Plug the smart switch accessory in to the port and the appliance in to the accessory switch. When utility power returns the appliance is switched back to grid power and the generator shuts down automatically.

We're using our igen2500 right now for three days after the bomb cyclone hit. It only uses 1 gallon for 10-14 hours power lights, electronics, refrigerator and freezer. And it will run the Instant Pot or portable induction cooker. We only switch over to the 8,000 watt for a few hours during the day for the well and water heater.

I use a dogbone adapter which accepts the L14-30 whole house generator cord to connect the 120 volt igen2500 so that all light switches and outlets work normally. The large appliance breakers must be turned off at the panel. Once one becomes familiar with their power needs it is easy to correctly size the generator. Eco mode works really well on the igen. You can hear the gen slow down by just turning off a few lights. And it ramps up fast when a heavy load is applied.
