Do you know which Lavazza beans are good for something darker than the espresso Italiano ones? I tried them and did like the taste but I do like something a bit darker in my cappuccinos.

Highly recommend a 1zpresso Jmax or similar (research them). It's a hand grinder but will get you similar grinds to an automatic 500-600$ machine grinder.
Give the Gran Crema or Super Crema a go. I very much enjoy those as well.
Crema e Gusto is fun to throw into the rotation as well.
I'd avoid Top Class, it's the only Lavazza blend I thought was too oily.

Interesting... Everyone I know finds those OVER-Roasted and bitter. I like dark roasts, but I will never buy Espresso Italiano again. I guess that just proves different tastes...
