I have this Sovol SV06 printer. I got it for Christmas last year (2023) and I had zero 3d printing experience prior to owning this, so I've had it for like 1 month now and my super short review is that I like it and find it easy to use and would buy again.

I purchased this SV06 after reading a recommendation on Reddit [reddit.com] and I haven't been disappointed. I have had a lot of successful prints and very few failed ones (although I haven't tried to print anything big that would take over 8 hours). I wouldn't say that it's been perfect but it has still been easy to tweak and get working right as a beginner. I just did a 5015 fan mode for the hot end [printables.com] this morning and did a couple of small prints and a bed level test [printables.com] and it seems to help things print just a little more smoothly. I also added a Raspberry PI and loaded OctoPrint [octoprint.org] (pretty easy with the Raspberry PI imager [raspberrypi.com]) so that I could print to the device wirelessly without having to swap out the microSD card each time I wanted to print something new

If you do buy this printer, check out this guys page for some setup tips, tweaks, and troubleshooting: https://sv06.blakadder.com/

OP literally said it's close to the best price for this model but comes with the added benefit of being sold through Amazon so you're dealing with their return process.

It's not the best deal ever for it, but it's still a good deal.

I have two Prusa MK3S+, two SV06+, and Bambu PS1 and A1 w/AMS. I started years ago with an Ender 3 Pro that I tricked out. I loved that printer, but I tell people to stay away from it unless they LOVE tinkering as much as the idea of printing.

My Prusas have been workhorses. I built both but did not enjoy it. In hindsight, I probably would have spent extra to pay for assembled, BUT I think Prusa has been left behind a bit. Mainly with cost.

To me, Sovol has been the best value right up there with Bambu. If my P1S had not been down for so long with an annoying error, I'd rank it higher because Bambu really changed the game.

With all that said, I'm in for one of these. Almost as cheap as the lowest price, especially with my 5% back from Amazon card. With the return options and speed of shipping, this is going to be a great option when other printers are down, or even to keep going non-stop.

This or SV06+ are the best value and bang for your buck, especially when on sale. Easy setup and beginner friendly. I also had a problem with one, but I was sent parts twice. Communication was a bit slow, but I got it back up and running.

I don't disagree. As a PSA if it's sold and shipped by Amazon then you'll have a decent return period and process. If sold and/or shipped by a merchant then the merchant can set some of the return conditions like for this item.
Oh, it was sold and shipped by Amazon. They insisted that because it was a "high value" item, I should leave it unattended for porch pirates and maybe the UPS driver.

Was it over a $1000 item? I've shipped an insured package with UPS and I think if it's over $1000, a UPS employee has to pick it up and scan it in. This does not include UPS store employees. Don't had to be a driver or dropped off at the actual UPS hub.

Ended 3 is tinker trash.
You being unable to figure out how to print with it does not make it trash. Take a chill pill dude, I wasn't looking for Ender insults, I was just asking for Sovol opinions.

I think you're really reaching there, guy.

I call the ender 3 tinker trash and somehow I can't print with and I need to take a chill pill?

I don't think you need to be so personally offended that I insulted a 3D printer.

The ender 3 is junk. You have to constantly tinker with it ever few prints. That isn't some revolutionary thought on them either. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Take a chill pill.

As an Ender 3 owner that rarely has to "tinker" with it anymore, you're just inexperienced. I've been printing functional PETG parts all month, and I haven't even needed to re-level my bed. Don't call something trash just because you couldn't figure it out.

Plus owner here and I will say I have done a good 5-6 rolls and the only thing I can complain about is the grub screw on the direct just came undone. Super impressed for the $$ and pretty decent spec out the box
Same here, have a klipper screen in the way as well! Decimate upgrade from my replicator 2 that was 8-9 years old

Once again - you're reaching.

I have printed close to 200lbs of PLA on my ender. I'm not sure why you need to defend it like it's your child so badly.

The majority of owners will agree it requires tinkering and leveling on a regular basis.

It's trash.

Take a chill pill.

Still rocking my SV01 that I swapped everything out for. The first time I heard the silent board running was a revelation. Still have it but not sure how much more out of it I can get with Klipper. I have their laser head they sold for it and might just covert it.
I use a Vyper now with Klipper but haven't got around to resonance calibrating to get input shaping to work. That's all I really want. A fast ass printer because I have four Anycubic Resins to do all the high detail stuff. I just want to print terrain and models as well as some functional shit (like the DIY 3d scanning rig) with it.
Haven't got the Vyper fast yet as I barely know what I'm doing. Going to buy that adafruit accelerometer to do the input shaping calibration today.

Is this easier to print with than my ender 3 v2? I just can not get the initial prints to stick to the bed. It worked great out of the box. The autoleveling does seem to get close to print ready and im just kind of tired leveling the bed. DOes this autolevel better?

Lmao this is the dumbest take. You printed 200lbs of PLA on trash? If it was really trash, you would have thrown it in the trash.

I didn't say it's not a tinkerer's machine. I said it's not trash.

Anyone knows if both Z synchronized in any way? Or perhaps there are two endstops? If neither then it is a pain to realign every time.

I got one of these a few weeks ago and I've been very happy with it. I'm surprised how well it works and how many features it has at this price point, it's been an almost turnkey solution.
Read the negative reviews about heat problems. One is:

"...I would say that the part cooling and hot end fans are insufficient, but a simple 5015 blower upgrade with printed parts will take care of that...."

Other mentions of motherboard overheating, and nozzle Temps dropping.

I don't know the merit of these complaints, but reading up on them before you buy is smart. Many times putting in a mod right off the bat gives smooth sailing.
