Anyone else not seeing the additional $50 off for Plus members? It's there for the 17 and 21 cu ft, but I'm not seeing it for the 13.8.

Does anyone in a hot climate have experience with these garage ready units? Garages in Southern California get extraordinarily hot in the summer and I'm not sure how this will hold up.

Thanks.

Mine is in San Diego. No problems in the summer with it. I bought the 17 cu ft model back during COVID and it works fairly well except for two things -- everything you put in a ziplock gets a thick coating of frost over it (inside the bag, of course). Steak or burger patties, for instance with as much air removed as I can, will frost over inside pretty heavy.

Second, the door seal is starting to give me trouble after just a couple years. There is ice buildup inside at the top where the door is and I can feel some cold air coming out the seal. I have some MacGyver fixes I've done that sort of work but from the reviews I've read, others have the same problem and Insignia won't fix it for free (since it does seem to be a manufacturing or design flaw or crappy seal). Buyer beware.

You'll be sorry.

Stay away from worse Buy. Screwed me with failed Insignia products, returns, repairs, leaving power supplies out and not making good, using made up companies to sell off used crap, and is overall bad character, miss handle user privacy, and overall not to be trusted.

Bought two about 6 months ago in stainless steel that I keep in my garage one set to fridge and one set to freezer. So far performing well.

How much would this cost a year to run at 11.5 cents per Kw?
