I am actually moving to an upright today! My biggest issue with chest freezer is that many items are buried and over time I forgot what I had there.

Agreed. After owning both, I would still stick with an upright even if the chest freezer was 10x more efficient. Maybe it's just me but I always ended up with frosted old garbage at the bottom that I would end up throwing out whenever I got around to cleaning it every few years.

I really prefer chest freezers. The cold air doesn't evacuate when you open the door.

Had mine delivered yesterday. We have a twelve year-old chest freezer, so this is a perfect compliment to that and will make it easier for my wife and kids to get things we use more often like extra bread, ice cream, etc.

Can't wait for my next Costco trip, since there will be no space limitations keeping us from really stocking up on any frozen items that are on sale. Smilie

I've had this in my basement utility room for a few years now and it's been great. Haven't actually used the "convertability" feature, as we just use it as a freezer, but it's nice that it could be a fridge if needed.

Zero complaints and zero issues thus far

The 21cu is actually $50 more expensive now than it was in Jan until 2/7 .. I was hoping the price would drop more for Presidents' Day sale but it went the wrong direction

Thanks, I just ordered one as well. Seems silly since it's just me but I also have 2 dogs and try to give them as much human grade food as I can so I cook a TON of chicken. Surgery coming up so need to do a bit of stockpiling. Plus I have a chest freezer but like mentioned by a couple of other folks here.. stuff in the bottom gets forgotten and then get freezer burned it has to get tossed. I foresee merging over to only the upright.

Purchased one back in December as my "beverage" fridge in the garage. Works great, delivery was very easy and fits all the drinks a guy could ask for.

Just got it price matched to this since it was a bit higher in December. No brainer if you're in the market at this price.

Do you "smoke" your beverages?

I've always been curious if the math works out, power usage vs sale price savings. Have you ever calculated this?

Not sure if this would be taken this way, but I'm not trolling, legitimately curious. I've never had the space for a standalone freezer, but I might in the future. I don't have a prepper mentality, so my primary goal would be to stock up when stuff's on sale, like you. And also limit runs to the store.

Do NOT buy this brand it's a complete waste of money and will die in one year. Save an extra 500 and get a better brand. I had this twice and regret wasting my time and money on this junk.

I got my 21 ft convertible in 2020, and it's worked great ever since.

I owned one for 5 years and it died. It's a decent freezer, gets the job done
