Went through most of the 1 start reviews in Costco, and they seem to be from people who miss specific games, but they haven't figured out that they can add tons of games like the op mentioned with just some youtubing.

It also looks like controller lag is just 13msec in wireless mode vs. 7 msec in wired mode, and has several solutions as outlined in this instructive video:

Hope this helps people on the fence, just got one, thanks op, repped! 😊
Does your dog love it too?
I got a refurbished one a few weeks ago from another retailer and as an Atari 2600 player from the late 70's, I've been quite happy with it. If you like the game list it comes with, I'd argue it's a heck of a deal at $50, especially since you can also add games via SD card and the developers have also released firmware updates that improve the product.

They want me to renew my membership to see the price. Nearest Costco is an hour away so I have no reason to have a membership, but wouldn't mind having this.
Another option is eBay or Amazon. There are some listings for $50 or less.

I am 1 1/2 hours from the closest Costco also it's in Mobile and the tax rate is 10% but I love their Kirkland dog food.

It's true. It's actually made by My Arcade, which everything they make seems to be junk..

The Atari 2600+ is much better and was on clearance for $25 a couple weeks ago at some Costcos.

Many people like the Hyperkin RetroN 77 better than any of them. It's $68 on Amazon.

I think all of these are basically RetroPi type hardware running emulators.

No it was not. Only Amazon and Atari carry the 2600+ and it's $130.

The 2600+ only plays Atari 2600/7800 physical cartridges.

The Retron77 plays Atari 2600 carts, and Atari 2600 ROMs off an SD card.

The Gamestation plays Atari 2600/5200/7800, NES, SNES, GBA, Sega, Arcade, and more off of SD.

Not saying which is better, (I own the Gamestation and 2600+ myself,) but at least let's compare apples to apples.

If you have the VCS set up to emulate these systems, then I'd say probably not. People seem to like Batocera on the VCS although I have not tried it yet. Right now I'm just running Stella on there for 2600 games, it works well, but I plan on trying out Batocera soon.

Yes, it was $25. I have a picture of it.

Oops, I was just referring to playing 2600 games. I definitely should have made that clear.
