Ok thanks I was hoping it would save time as I often don't wax my truck due to how much time it takes. Are the pads the expensive part?
pads, compound, polish, microfiber... but if you're after results then definitely invest in a DA.. not necessarily this one because there are many out there

Don't forget your clay bar step after washing/stripping!
Really great polisher all around - picked one up over the past summer and really like it. Would recommend. Does well with 5AH+ batteries especially.
Only wish they made a 2-3" pad version! For now using my my Flex for smaller jobs.
Been a couple of years since I used a DA...can't you replace the backing plate with a 3-inch? I believe I replaced my old 6"/5" with a 3" from Meguiar's
can someone explain how I can get it for $187??? i see $299
You go to the polisher page, add the battery on the page as the additional item, add the deal to your cart. View your cart and you should see individual prices for the polisher and battery. Polisher 187.03, Battery 111.97 (It's a proportional price thing, aka the polisher is 300 and the battery is 180 = $480. So under the 299 price scheme each item receives a proportional ~37% price reduction.) You are then able to capitalize on returning the battery while maintaining the price reduction.
Edit: I literally just did it. Make sure to order online or online for instore pickup. I don't think they can give you the deal in store as it rings up like a normal deal would where the 'bonus' item is 'free'. Ordering online creates 2 item charges allowing for the discounted separate refunds.

Let's say I'm doing a 2 step paint correction on a 4 door midsize sedan, how many batteries would I expect to go through?

TL;DW from the following video (about 20:00), 3 batteries for a bigger/heavier job, 1 battery for a lighter finish job: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LJFXSL
Other TL;DW is that these apparently have minimal vibration to the in the body so they're comfortable to use for long durations.
