Thank you. I won't do another combo listing like this again. I cleaned it up some and in the description added last month's post that had expired.

Deal looks good, OP. It has been reposted a few times, but this is still a great deal for kicking off a badass 5.1 system.

Combine it with a fairly robust AVR if not doing separates. I think it combines well with this: https://slickdeals.net/f/17266051-marantz-cinema-60-7-2-ch-x-100-watts-a-v-8k-receiver-refurbished-799-free-shipping

I've yapped enough about these speakers on SD, but they are power hungry, not the prettiest, but have a very smooth response, are 3-way, and have quality internals. They will last you a long time and overperform in the Andrew Jones tradition.

Amazon-Elac 2016 model Unifi bookshelf speakers and center sold separately $149.99
Your title needs a lot of work. You need to clearly state what is being sold and at what price. The way it is written now, it is open to too much incorrect guessing / interpretation. You intermingled two separate items which aren't even priced the same.

Listing multiple items together is okay, it can just be a little trickier to organize. It's looking great now. Thanks for sharing this deal Wookie_Cookie.

I will add that they break up at high volumes, so if you are loud listner these may not be for you. I used to have the towers and complex metal did not work. Still, these are excellent for the price and nearfield or a smaller room would be great.

I've heard iffy things about the center speaker on these. Can, anyone who has one comment on it?

It's amazing speaker for under 1k. Very fuller sound with great sound stage and image. Good quality amp (excluding most class D with low damping and current) make this speaker sound really nice.

If the center is iffy then what does that say about the bookshelves?

I heard the center can make talking difficult to hear un movies (not an audiophile) Not sure if it's true or not

I've had these for about five years. The bookshelves are excellent and really shine in a home theatre when paired up with a decent receiver and a good powered subwoofer. Yes, they're power-hungry and relatively inefficient, but unless you need absolutely ear-splitting volume, they'll be fine with most modern AVRs. The center isn't nearly as impressive but does the job. I don't think $200 is a bad price for this, but since center channels carry the bulk of the load, I'd suggest investing in something better. I upgraded to an SVS center and it's distinctly better with dialog.

You're probably right, better to just get SVS all around and be done.

What did you use for the center? Are you using the elac for the fronts and surrounds?

I am in process of building 5.2.4 on a 10x13 room, so space is tight on basement HT build.

Got 5 B&W M1 speakers and RSL 10 for sub. Currently using M1 as center as well. I dont know anything much on audio technics. Do I need a different center speaker like OP one or will I be just fine with what I got?

The center speaker is crucial for clear dialogue in home theater. In addition, match the center speaker to your left and right speakers for a uniform soundstage. So, if you choose the M1 as your center, your left and right speakers should also be from the same series for the best audio experience. I would keep your center as is and work the receiver settings to dial in dialog.

This is all subjective so if the M1 works good for you, you should be fine.
You could even continue with M1s as object based speakers.
