Eh pish posh, forget all the smart features and buy a streaming box/stick. Smart TV's are awful and tend to slow down in a couple of years. I'd rather buy a new Fire TV for $35 than worry about getting updates for my smart TV. I have a 65" Samsung that didn't get the Apple TV app because it's one generation too old (TV was only 2 years old or less), but my 4K Fire TV got it, and I haven't used the smart features on it ever since.

Sam's club ran a 3 day special on a TCL Qled last week. Got one, seems to be pretty good although this may be better not sure
Believe me it's not.
This is the equivalent of the TCL 4 series. If it was the 70 series it might be better.
The ONLY LED Samsung worth purchasing is their 90 series

He's right I had a 65" in my bedroom I had to swap it out 55-60 max. You are sitting too close, unless you have a huge bedroom. I put the 60 next to the 65 for size comparison the 65 for is much bigger.

If you live in a state with a Meijer you can buy this TV for the same price and receive an $80 catalina coupon to use within a month on nearly anything with the exception of alcohol and gift cards.

Got the SAMSUNG 65" Class 4K Crystal UHD (2160P) LED Smart TV with HDR UN65TU7000B for $368 last time Walmart had a budget 65" on sale and that's been a good TV thus far. For $30 more I might replace the older 55" Samsung in the spare bedroom and sell that for a bill.

Need the 58" to go on sale for the bedroom. 65" is a tad too big.

Are there 65" non smart tvs available for sale anywhere?

Or are you saying to not use a smart tvs OS (regardless of which OS) and just plug in a streaming device? (fire, roku, etc)

Wouldn't the smart TV still get an update or two even if you weren't using the OS?

Seems about the same deal I've been seeing for the CU7000 series. This series has bluetooth connectivity, version 5.0 I think, and eARC HDMI. My previous TV did not have eARC. Can't remember what it was exactly, but made it difficult to modernize. All I remember saying is... note to self, make sure it has eARC. I'm old. But still a good deal. Don't get model 690T, it is old, unless it's for plain old fashioned TV watching, then it's perfectly fine actually, slap a Roku on it, great for basic TV on the cheap. I'm in the market. Waiting for a deal I can't refuse on a 55.

Just don't use the OS. The other advantage, is if you never connect it to your network, you're not sharing your viewing data with LG/Samsung/Vizio etc, although using a streaming box, they're getting the data. As far as updates, sometimes you'll get them, but there's no guarantee. Same thing for support. There's no reason the TV I bought couldn't handle the Apple TV app when it was released other than Samsung deciding it wouldn't get it.

AFAIK, there are no "non-smart" TV's out there, as that's one reason they're so cheap, is they can get the data from it, and/or sell you ads.
