Check out the specs that its compatible with on the back. I didnt realize it was toyota WS compatible until today so this is a huge savings. Plenty of toyota specific forums report using this with no issues. Some say its even better than OEM spec since its synthetic

For transmission and coolant, I always get it from the manufacturer. I dont know why!
I do the same thing which is probably a good idea when it comes to the trans and cooling system. Now that semi synthetic Motorcraft oil is getting so expensive I'm thinking about switching to Mobil full synthetic products.

You put non-Honda atf in your CRV? I use this oil and it's great but I've always heard that you really can't get away with anything but Honda OEM atf fluid.
Dw-1 or death but yes now on my 2nd crv the 1st was totalled out RIP sexy B1tch by some dumb lady on her freakin phone. Maybe just lucky with maxlife but I never had a problem in either knock on wood only have about 5k on this crv since change.

There are certainly more ATF alternatives than MaxLife to OEM fluids these days, but in regards to the Valvoline MaxLife, I have had good success even when the forums would say anything other than OEM would grenade the transmission. In my family's fleet I have Honda, Acura, Mitsubishi, Toyota, and Nissan vehicles and the MaxLife has proven reliable over a combined 300,000 miles across all these vehicles. Many of these use ATF in the Power Steering (some however have a specialty power steering fluid - Honda) as well so It is nice to have only one transmission fluid in the garage.

The price of MaxLife Transmission fluid has increased quite a bit over the last few years, when it stuck around $17/gallon for many years. I have begun to consider other alternatives to MaxLife at the new regular price of $27-$30/gallon but $22 is a good price, I bought a dozen.
Yes 17 @walmart but those where the good ol' days before covid

I did some research on bobtheoilguy forum before I bought this instead of the OEM dw-1 honda fluid. No issues.

However, substituting for power steering fluid, don't know since it might blow out the seals since it's thicker. Honda power steering fluid has more additives versus regular psf in it per their spec. It is available in aftermarket brands. I would use this or non honda psf to top off a honda in a pinch but not flush out the whole ps system out unless it was the honda spec.

Bought 9 for the shop, this is good stuff and works very well in many vehicles. Local part stores are all between $35-38/Gallon.

Thanks!

curious as well about using this in Mercedes transmissions. from what I read the 7 speed takes a different fluid and this is only NAG1 compatible
Does anyone have Mercedes 7spd transmission experience with this?
