So, the Rtings review on the U8K doesn't exactly apply. They tested the 65" which is a VA panel, but the 75" is the only one in the lineup using a different panel type. So none of the measurements actually apply to the 75"...
"The 75-inch model uses an ADS Pro panel, so it performs a bit differently than the other sizes, as it has worse contrast and black uniformity, different reflection handling due to its glossy screen coating, and a wider viewing angle." https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/u8-u8k
I haven't seen any of this line up in person, but that's giving me some pause.
Can't beat this tv for the price. I bought this a couple weeks ago for 1299.99 and Best Buy refunded me the 150.00 difference. I was deciding between this 75 inch and a 65 inch OLED. So glad I chose this TV.
I don't know about the 75" with the different panel but off angle viewing on the 55" was so bad that's what made me return it. I ran undeadpixel just to cycle through the different solid colors on screen (yellow, red, green, blue, white, black) and standing off to the side you could only make out 2 colors and black, the other colors just looked white.

Off angle viewing on the 75 model is near perfect, similar to OLEDs.
Hard to look at any other deals with the S89C deal out there.
But there was a time a couple years ago where $1k for the 65" Hisense 8 series was a good price. So here you're getting an 8 series 75" for $1150, not bad at all.
I'm just curious. For how many people is pickup an option? I have a decent sized SUV and there's no way a 65" TV box would fit in the back. Short of a pickup truck or a caddy, I don't see how you get anything bigger inside. Let alone 80" plus.

I'd agree that the S89C is a good deal, but for some that extra $650 is too much. I was going to pull the trigger on a U7K for $900 this week, but was willing to do an extra $250 for the U8K.
I copped the 65" U8H display model for $440, plus the 5 year warranty for an additional $50 or so.
I'm not sure why ppl are on your case about it being the k model, and not h model. The original poster also asked about the 55", and you spoke about the 65" . They must be losing sleep for that missed opportunity to feel good about you being wrong so they can be right.
God forbid somebody using historical data points of similar products of similar pricing tier to project potential options in the future with the hopes of helping somebody else make a similar purchasing decision

FYI the 75 u7k had the same ads pro panel. I just bought one and the viewing angles much much wider that the VA Sony I've had for a few years. Iirc the u8k has higher peak brightness and more dimming zones. Imo it still looks amazing and has great contrast and blacks.

I had mine delivered. The box is massive.

just so people are aware, the 75" version of the U8K has a different panel than the 55, 75, or 85. The 75" is not as good and has some upscaling issues and blooming issues. That is what is preventing me from replacing my Hisense 65" flagship from 2021
