edit: damn, you can only get one at this price. coupons don't work on more than one item, and don't work on more than one order.
as for stale beans, lavazza nitrogen flushes their brand and gives them a *two year* expiry period. I find it really hard to believe Amazon has stuff in their warehouse for that long. that'd be a logistics fail of epic proportions. I bet you confused the roast on date with the expiry.
not defending their extra long "good by date", but I call bs on getting actually expired beans.
Every time I ordered coffee from Amazon, bags are within 2 months of the manufacturer's date. So there's another 22 months after that until they are deemed no longer fresh according to Lavazza.
I buy in bulk when they go on sale. One time I bought a bunch of bags. The last bag of that bunch we didn't grind until 9 months after we purchased it. And it tasted just like the first bag 9 months earlier.
People don't understand the nitrogen flush and they only go by the dates. Pity.

So it's up to what you want, if you needs high quality beans, just buy small batch from locals or some eBay sellers
Yes you can take to Costco for just grinding.
