i disagree with the above posters who think this isn't a good sign up bonus. this comes with a companion pass for a little over 12 months. so it all depends on how you'll use this.
Thirty thousand points for spending $4k is terrible. I got 75k points just two months ago. Anything less than 50k is not worth it and even that is on the low side. Wait if you can.
Edit: The companion pass is worth it if you plan to travel at least twice with a companion. The extra 45k points I got are worth ~$550.
Wish it was two years. This would be less than one year.

did it on a thursday and got it the following friday if i'm not mistaken. it was quick. but if you have a iphone/android and have the chase app, you can add it to your phones wallet instantly.
Used to be free companion pass until the end of the following calendar year, now it's only 12 months 😕
This deal of the free companion pass with this card has always been until the following February. The regular companion pass by earning 135,000 points has always been the rest of the current year until 12/31 the following year and still exists.

I can't seem how to do that on chase app via Android. I've only got Southwest email saying to create account for rewards.

So I fly 6-7 times a year round trip for work but they make me book all my flights through Concur (it's an interface for company's so they can apply rules and monitor your travel arrangements). I pick the flights and pay for them with my own credit card though. Does anyone have experience with how this might or might not work with a companion pass? I obviously can only book my flight through the Concur system. Can I then go through the Southwest app or call customer service to add a companion ticket for my wife? If I need to book both tickets at the same time, then this deal is no good for me. It's almost always just the wife tagging along on work trips.

Yes, that's how the companion pass works, you book first and then add your companion as long as there is some spot left for the flight, doesn't matter if it's business class or wanna get away

for me its when i open the chase app i click "more" then there is a Digital Wallet option, that is how you can add it. gives options for Apple pay, google pay and paypal.
i do believe you need to make a SW account as well. for the SW rewards/Companion.
How long after spending the $4000 does it take for the companion pass to become available?

i got my card on feb 20th and i did the 4k by 28th so i'm the waiting game before i buy 4 more tickets lol
You'll probably have to wait until the first statement closes.
But you can always buy one ticket first, the companion ticket will be separate (with a different confirmation number), and you can add it later as long as there are seats available.

Ahh ok then i'll pre-buy the 3 tickets and wait for statement. It looks like the statement date is march 28th. i'm going to pre-buy some SW Gift cards from costco and use those to purchase the tickets. it doesn't matter how i buy my ticket correct? (sw card, gift card, pts etc) as long as its a purchased ticket?

Yea it doesn't matter. The fact that you can use points and companion pass is awesome.
I have received a bonus on this card in March 2022. Have applied yesterday and got declined due to:
You earned a new cardmember bonus on the same product in the last 24 months"
Anyone been in a similar situation and was able to change Chase's mind since technically I could get a bonus in April which is more than 24mo since last bonus was received?
