i disagree with the above posters who think this isn't a good sign up bonus. this comes with a companion pass for a little over 12 months. so it all depends on how you'll use this.
Thirty thousand points for spending $4k is terrible. I got 75k points just two months ago. Anything less than 50k is not worth it and even that is on the low side. Wait if you can.
Edit: The companion pass is worth it if you plan to travel at least twice with a companion. The extra 45k points I got are worth ~$550.
Wish it was two years. This would be less than one year.

So I fly 6-7 times a year round trip for work but they make me book all my flights through Concur (it's an interface for company's so they can apply rules and monitor your travel arrangements). I pick the flights and pay for them with my own credit card though. Does anyone have experience with how this might or might not work with a companion pass? I obviously can only book my flight through the Concur system. Can I then go through the Southwest app or call customer service to add a companion ticket for my wife? If I need to book both tickets at the same time, then this deal is no good for me. It's almost always just the wife tagging along on work trips.
It will work. I use to fly a company in with flight booked through concur and paid for by the company. Just add the companion after your reservation is ticketed
I have received a bonus on this card in March 2022. Have applied yesterday and got declined due to:
You earned a new cardmember bonus on the same product in the last 24 months"
Anyone been in a similar situation and was able to change Chase's mind since technically I could get a bonus in April which is more than 24mo since last bonus was received?
Cancelled my SW card 2 weeks ago on 2/20, after having it open for 2.5 years and reopened today and got approved instantly. I was reading earlier comments that said you had to wait 30 days, but I guess that's not the case.
Deal is t as good as it sounds. I signed up a few weeks ago, hit my 4k and they won't give me the companion pass h til the first statement clears, and then 6-8 weeks after that. So you're realistically looking at half a year of companion pass. Feels really deceptive.
Where do you see the statement close date? Mine just says no payment is due.
i lied it says my next closing date is april 3rd. but when you go into the chase app, click on the card and where it shows the payment due date, min payment statement balance, etc. click on "show details" and it shows the "next closing date" right under the credit limit increase request.

As has already been noted in this thread, '6-8 weeks' is cover our ass language on the part of Chase and Southwest to protect against weird shit. In nearly all cases, you will get the companion pass a couple of days after the statement that you hit the spend threshold closes.

W/o the companion pass, the offer is typically 60K mi/$1000 spend. This is an invitation for couples to get together to sock themselves with a revolving credit balance at 20-27 percent interest.
Or people who simply cannot appreciate the joy of going through life endlessly and desperately trying to justify an empty existence of pathological co-dependency. Tomato/tomahto.
Any idea when this offer ends? I don't want it and want to sign up for a card with much less spend limit to get the 30K points (I already did the business card for 80K and then they changed this to offer the companion pass).

Not a good sign up bonus. They had a very similar deal before and you only had to spend $2,000 instead of $4,000. Not to mention points are worth half as much as they were before. So they should offer about 50k points.

If you click on the application link it says it expires 3/11
Looking forward to seeing some confirmation that Companion Pass shows up soon after your billing cycle ends (once you hit the $4K spend). I hit mine a couple weeks ago. Billing cycle just ended on 3/3 and they already applied the Annual Fee of $69 on 3/1. I also just paid off my balance today for good measure. We'll see how long before I see CP.
