I just checked a trip to Barcelona and Madrid for 2 adults and child and for economy travel from Los Angeles it was pricing at $9,000. I mean I know they choose 4 star hotels, but I see no point of booking through costco as opposed to something like travelzoo.

My wife and I have been looking at trips to Spain for a while now and packages with flights can commonly be found for under $1500, which includes airport transfer, bus transportation between cities, daily meals, transfer of luggage, etc.

These prices just seem insane.

We booked a trip to Mexico last year with Costco and it turned out to be pretty close to what it would've cost if if we had done it ourselves with hotel and flight separately.

Regarding the 9K vs 1.5K (I assume you mean 9K for 3 people with Costco and 1.5K per person at Travelzoo) - some of the travelzoo offers are shady when you actually go to book them. The flights are very inconvenient, the hotels are not good.. Travelzoo is just a website that steers traffic to agencies. They don't actually book anything themselves. So you have to do your research before booking the offers on their site.
