I purchased this last week at Micro Center for $450 and returned it due to the terrible thermals, (burning my leg even with light gaming) and noticed it has one small fan. I purchased the $999 Asus RTX 4070 deal from Best Buy and could not be happier.
You are comparing a $450 laptop to a 1k laptop lol. Like saying Lexus is better than Toyota at 2x the cost.

We have everything in Arizona except microcenters go figure
They've been slow to expand in the Western US.

They only have one store in the entire state of California, where the population is 3-4 times the state of Ohio which has 3 Microcenters. Greater LA area has a bigger population than Ohio.

They posted in FB they were considering locations in Phoenix but they never expanded on that.

If your kid plays Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite, etc. This may be a good budget option.

To be fair Lexus is Toyota. More like "took back my Geo Metro for a Lexus e350. Couldn't be happier"

You specifically mentioned the laptop burning your leg, which implies that you were gaming with it in your lap. Gaming laptops often have vents on the bottom of the laptop, and if those vents are blocked (as would likely occur with the laptop on your lap) thermals can suffer depending on the design of the laptop. Did you observe significant thermal issues with the laptop when placed on a flat hard surface (such as a table or desk), or only with it on your lap? Also, were you able to observe meaningful performance degradation due to thermal throttling, or was the issue only that the laptop chassis got uncomfortably hot?

8 in stock here, but no real need for one right now.
Saying "here" without saying where "here" is, is not helpful.

Columbus houses Micro Center's HQ, I live about 20 mins from there, it's in a suburb called Hilliard

Ah yes, trading in a Honda for a BMW, which one would be better?

Aren't Hondas more reliable and trustworthy?

I am between Columbus + sharonville being in Dayton so I can go either way. but the sharonville guys are great. I recently snagged my Asus tuf 7940hs + 7700s 1tb/16gb AMD advantage for 549 open box. it was legit brand new. Got full warranty + free 12month ADP when I registered it. Columbus has same unit for 1200+open box.
