Safer, quicker, and potentially cheaper to get from Amazon if you have Amazon [Prime] Visa with 5%/3% cashback.

I have a minis NAB6 and it is louder than 15 year old laptop using 25% CPU. It is super loud and NVMe boils. I have for the kids 2 Beelink (SER5) they are much quieter and paid around $300 which is more than enough because they don't game its for school and are fast enough. However this UM790 which has a decent GPU is not quite there, and if you want to game you are better served w/ a PC build and an Arc GPU for much less and more performance. I think in a year or two the APU will be powerful enough to replace entry-level GPU but they too are getting better. To me this is a slightly overpriced odd duck.

I can't read reddit at work - what do comments say about this. This seems like a great Mini PC - very powerful. The only other one I thought about purchasing is the Bee-Link Pro version - though usually more expensive ($100-$200) more expensive.

I have this device. Yes there is some issue related to kernel + amd driver (affecting all amd devices with these mobile ryzen chipsets, not specific to minisforum). That issue is mitigated in the latest Linux kernels but it does affect win 11, causing blue screens and hard resets.

There are a lot of forum posts about it, a lot of suggested fixes.

But don't fret. The one and only fix is disabling c6 in windows. Once you do that (a script that runs on boot), no more issues. I no longer get any bsods or restarts. Had an uptime of 27 days before restarting for a windows update.

This machine is a monster and I highly recommend it.

PS. I work remote and I travel with it along with a couple of portable usb-c monitors.

a PSA of purchasing electronics on Amazon: if you want to return your item, the only option now is UPS pickup. No UPS drop off or whole foods drop off for "valuable items". Customer service will not do anything. If you are not home during weekdays it can be a hassle.

Also I have seen reports that UPS will just leave a label if they fail to get your package.

Anyway, if anyone plans to return these products, return them early and don't wait till the last few days of the return period.
