A note regarding Emerald paint. The finish is absolutely the most beautiful I've seen in my work (interior design). However, it is virtually impossible to touch up a small scuff or ding without the touch up showing. Almost always, the entire wall must be painted. It is best when sprayed. If you intend to roll the paint, ask the folks at your SW for tips and tricks for the best finish.

Not necessarily saying this to just promote SW in particular but one of the biggest things I've learned being an average DIY home owner is that paints like these are quite often worth the premium especially on sale. I know there are the Behrs and other house brands that put out some decent product but the adhesion, coverage and durability a lot of times just simply doesn't compare.

Good lord, I painted my whole house with this stuff about 5 years ago. It was under $50 a can before discounts. Now it's about $90 a can. So even with the 40% discount they are making a killing on just paint.

Do the stackable coupons (eg. Pottery Barn) only work on NEW SW PaintPerks accounts?

Think so. These sales don't usually count as a coupon

Are you talking about a $15/75 SW/PB coupon, or a % off? I'm looking at painting the exterior of my house and probably like $1500 in paint (-25% with this sale!)

I'll agree with others, great paint, but don't buy it at full retail price, it goes on sale often enough for most people to wait it out. Your time saved (and to some extent possibly money depending on the job size) not putting up 3+ coats of watered down paint is worth it.

I purchased this paint (exterior version) a few years ago for my outside door wood trim and shed with the hope/gola that I would not need to re-paint those areas every few years. Absolutely the best exterior paint I have used... going on 5 years now. Highly recommend the exterior version especially if you get it at this discount. I custom built my home and would have used it at least for any externally exposed wood. Cannot comment on the interior version. I did have very good results from PPG Silken touch interior but full disclosure I received a 50% from a friend that ran a PPG store and asked for the best interior paint they sold. It has held up very will as my home is now 18 years old and the interior paint still looks good.

You can always buy and tint at a later date. I was told by our local store associate that unopened cans are good for 5-7 years when stored properly.

Paint the walls white and the touch ups don't show. I like the anti microbial for bathrooms to prevent mildew

I painted the entire interior of my house with SW paints but prefer their SuperPaint over the Emerald. We got some Emerald because we only had a small area to paint and it's one of the few types that comes in a quart size. I don't know if it's because we used a light shade or what but it did not cover the walls as opaquely as the SuperPaint did. We ended up having to buy another quart to put a second coat on, where we did not have to do that with the SuperPaint.

This is spot on. I'd go as far as to say that even their Superpaint is far superior to anything Behr offers. Yeah the MSRP is way more, but SW always has some kind of discount available. We have a Pro account and usually pay around 40 bucks for either that or Cashmere. 51 bucks for Emerald is an absolute steal.

EDIT: Oops, I actually meant to respond to the person who said SW paints are worth the premium price.
